Mage weapon #1

Now Hap(or any other Purge-man out there), I have a question about the mage's first weapon. Wow, look at that a thread about the game! I'm good http://www.voodooextreme.com:81/smile.gif

Anyways. I know that the lvl 1 power will be the ice blast thingy, that shoots all around the character. My question is this: Considering that we will be able to jump, Will the area of effect only be on the ground or all around the mage and a bit above? I ask this because any one on the order can just aim UP if you are "bunny-Hopping" to compensate.

Thanx for the answer(just getting a head of myself here http://www.voodooextreme.com:81/smile.gif)

Later,

The Frost attack doesn`t shoots all around..it`s an single projectile..med-fast fired and flying..using gravity.
Example, if you aim 100% up it travels up high and comes down and "explodes/freezes" right on the bottom of your feets. It`s acting similar an grenade, exploding only by collsion. It`s great for reaching hidden areas, those who aren`t reachable with an straight flying projectile.

Mage attacks are...

Staff Punch (self-explaining)
Frost (similar an Grenade Launcher, but no time delay of explosion, fire rate is higher, small radius damage + direct hit, but less damage)
Lighting (similar an Railgun, but less damage, therefor rapidly -, almost constant firing, no radius damage, only direct hit)
Firball (similar Rocket Launcher, fast, medium radius damage + massive direct hit)

AH! Okay, I guess I had that wrong... I'm amazed. Oh well, That sounds cool for the power... and makes it stronger than i was thinking it would be.

Have there been any screens of the mage's lightning? I don't remember seeing any, though I could be wrong...

Is that about how many weapons each class will have (around 5 or so), or is that just as far as you've planned right now with the mage class?

Nintendo Gamecube, yes there are screenshots posted, these with the bright yellow glowing on the staff end (around the gem, where the bat is sitting on) is Lightning attack, the blue is Frost, the red/orange (Flame) is Fireball..when the gem isn`t glowing you are using melee Staff Punch, in that case you are totally insanne or simply out of "ammo".

FujiFilms...That are all the attacks, surly beside the specials.

There's a bug with the visual on the Mage lightning. I dunno if I get to fixing before the beta starts. It doesn't affect the gameplay, though. I might fixing during Phase 3 of the beta.

So that means you don't want us telling you about the lightning glitch huh?

Hap June 10th, 2002 12:17 PM

Oh it draws something of a lightning laser beam is 1st person, but in 3rd person, it looks correct. I must find the time to fix. http://forums.ve3d.com/smile.gif
