"I've been waiting so long,
to be where I'm going..."

Who's the band, and what's the song title?

Cream! Cool band, although Jack Bruce seems like a pretentious dick. Ginger Baker is a very interesting drummer though.

poopsie gets the bonus points!

You're right...Jack Bruce has been long known for his asshole-like qualities. (could explain why the band couldn't stay together very long?)

Good job poopsie!

"Sunshine of You Love"..the title....

Didn't Fudgetunnel do a cover of this song about 10 years ago?

LOL

yes, they did do a cover. But I was looking for the original (since that's the record I have, and I only put these stupid song questions here when I'm consuming mass quantities of sophisticated adult beverages )

But Unused Nickname gets some points, as well, since poopsie did not provide the title of the song

Hee hee, thanks. Couldn't let the thread die without ID'ng it...

While Fudgetunnel's version was far from stellar (heck, it wasn't even good) it did inspire me to tune to low D and play every single song I know a whole-step lower for about 5 years....

And the main riff DOES sound pretty heavy played an octave lower....

Are you talking drop-d, or do you really mean a whole frickin' octave down?

Wow, that would sound abusive

Actually, they play parts of it a full Octave lower than Cream did. Drop D is what Fudgetunnel tuned to, but they used that low D as their low point, so the riff was "rooted" a full Octave lower. Cream cheats back up at the tail end of the main riff, and Fudgetunnel takes it to the bottom.

I actually play "Dazed And Confused" in the same manner, using the low-B on a 5 string as the starting point. I've gotten it down to A flat audibly, but it's too low for my taste, you can hardly hear it and have to use other notes in relation to it to "guess" what that open string should be. Not my idea of fun, making everyone sick Bassists don't like to not be heard. Ask Jason Newstead how he thought he sounded on "...And Justice For All", and he'd probably start sobbing. And that was in E
