I was told to write shiny support in this post: http://www.veforums.com/Forum25/HTML/000507.html

Should i really do that?
Thanks!

Definately. They have a much more thorough understanding of the game than I do. They are probably more likely to get information/new drivers out of 3dfx.

This is from instructions on installing new banshee drivers :

Extract the files for the Voodoo Banshee driver to a directory.
Click Start, Control Panel. Double-click on Display.
Click the Settings tab then click:
Windows 98 users: Click "Advanced Properties"

Then under "Change Display Type/Advanced Display" click "Change"
Click "Have Disk" and enter the path specified in Step 2 plus:
Windows 98 users: the Win98 directory.

Now the last section above sounds quite confusing!!!

Any ideas??

I have tried above and it says it cannot find cleanbin.exe or cleanbn.exe and I cannot install the driver.
So reverted back to old 1157 driver.

Umm very strange.

The path is just the folder where you have unzipped the driver files that you DLed from 3DFX. When you tell it to update the drivers, you have to tell it which folder the updated drivers are in. So, for instance, if you download the files onto your desktop, and unzip them into a folder called "banshee", you would give it the path "C:\windows\desktop\banshee". Just make sure you update it with the proper files. For step-by-step help, you might want to call 3dfx. We don't have any machines running banshees here in CS, so I can't give you step-by-step dirs.

Well I thank you for all your help! Are you going to continue helping me and berating 3dfx, or should this be back in Shiny's hands? I'm just wondering who's responsible for all this. Thanks again!

I'm going to try to talk to somebody at 3dfx again today. For the time being, email that info to Shiny, so they have it on record.

Will do. I'll make sure to send an email when I get home tonight. I'll reference my posts here, and reiterate what I've explained in the posts.

Thank you, Brock!
