With games I have never had a problem with the DSL, but for web surfing, it really has problems. DSL (BellAtlantic) is new in my area so perhaps they are working out the kinks. Web surfing will be great for about 3-4 min and then stop dead in it tracks for about a full minute before picking up again. I havn't figured what the deal is but I suspect that the games are ok because they are not on port 80 ??? Still bizzare though. My friends with cable modems are all very happy with their service, and while in theory it(cable modem) does slow down the more people that are on it, in practice you don't experience it at all. If my DSL worked more consistently for web surfing I would be much happier with it. I did hear a rumor though that cable modems were more prone to packet loss, but I don't see why that would be true.
