| I need to register | OK here's how it works -
Your first mission you determine which 3 basic creatures and which low level attack spell you will have. You also get heal and speed spells. Each mission from 2-7 you will gain one more creature and one more spell. Level 8 you get 2 spells but no creatures. Level 9 you get the top creature but no spells. You get the spell(s) and/or creature of the particular god you are serving that mission. These are permanent. Each level adds to your spellbook, but your previous choices are with you the whole campaign.
Additionally, as mentioned, at certain points in the campaign doing one god's mission will close off other gods to you either temporarily or permanently. The basic story - Mithras' prophecy, Jadugar and Marduk, Charnel's demon gate, and Pyro's magnafryer and pyrodraulic dynamo - is unchanged. Your role in it changes depending on your choices. Some of this is obvious - ie do a lot for Persephone and Charnel's not going to like you. Others are unpredictable, and related to parts of the story going on behind the scenes. It takes replaying the campaign with other choices to put it all together.
All of this makes the game enormously replayable. You can experience different parts of the story, experience the same part on opposite sides, or experience the same part on the same side but with different abilities.
Starcraft's story was more involving emotionally, TA:Kingdom's story was grander and more epic, but Sacrifice's flexibility makes it the best campaign I've ever seen. |
