What mission combo do you use?

What I am wondering is what effect does it have on which god you choose for each single player mission? I have seen several people talk about "all Persephone" or "all Charnel" games, but when I started my first single player I just chose all different ones. I haven't been able to play much at all since I got it, but this part kind of confused me. Does it affect the story if you do like 2 Persephone missions and then 3 Charnal missions? Or just one of each god?

I know the first one determines who your base god is and what basic spells and creatures you have, but it was hard to tell after that. It seems like your spells and creatures change every mission. Is there a good combo?

Just wondering. If there is another thread discussing this just let me know. I got the the game on the 20th, and I love the graphics. I happen to suck at RTS's, and this one is really hard for me, but I'm still trying =D.

The spellbook you have in single player grows as you progress through the missions, so if you play the first mission as charnel you get the three basic charnel minions for the rest of the single player campaign.
it does make a pretty big impact on how you progress through the game, because if you do some charnel/pyro missions later in the game you will not have the option of playing any more james/stratos/persephone missions.
which is mildly annoying to people who want to create certain custom spellbooks. oh well such is life http://www.veforums.com/smile.gif
you have to find what works best for you and explore a lot of the possibilities.

good luck

OK here's how it works -

Your first mission you determine which 3 basic creatures and which low level attack spell you will have. You also get heal and speed spells. Each mission from 2-7 you will gain one more creature and one more spell. Level 8 you get 2 spells but no creatures. Level 9 you get the top creature but no spells. You get the spell(s) and/or creature of the particular god you are serving that mission. These are permanent. Each level adds to your spellbook, but your previous choices are with you the whole campaign.

Additionally, as mentioned, at certain points in the campaign doing one god's mission will close off other gods to you either temporarily or permanently. The basic story - Mithras' prophecy, Jadugar and Marduk, Charnel's demon gate, and Pyro's magnafryer and pyrodraulic dynamo - is unchanged. Your role in it changes depending on your choices. Some of this is obvious - ie do a lot for Persephone and Charnel's not going to like you. Others are unpredictable, and related to parts of the story going on behind the scenes. It takes replaying the campaign with other choices to put it all together.

All of this makes the game enormously replayable. You can experience different parts of the story, experience the same part on opposite sides, or experience the same part on the same side but with different abilities.

Starcraft's story was more involving emotionally, TA:Kingdom's story was grander and more epic, but Sacrifice's flexibility makes it the best campaign I've ever seen.
