Error initializing graphics library (-1)
 

This is the message I get when I try to start the game. My video card is made by S3Inc. Which is now under a different name, Silicon Blue I believe. Main drive is s3_3.drv,Version 4.10.01.2113, Card is ViRGE GX2, 4MB of memory. Ihope this info is correct. Can anyone help?

I downloaded the patch but I'm having probs. my computer tells me "No valid D3D video cards found" then I click ok and it says "error initializing graphics library (-1)." I posted similar message to this one elsewhere, noticed your comments and thought maybe you could help? Either the patch didn't work, doesn't work, or I don't know what I'm doing (the last one being likely). Please help me. e-mail Arms@bgnet.bgsu.edu

unfortunately sacrifice does not support the use of s3 cards at this time as listed in the troubleshooting guide. i wish we had a better answer for you though. you can find really good deals on new video cards like voodoo3 or tnt2 for right around 50 bucks at www.pricewatch.com

Jam, if you do have a supported card, you will want to check two things. First, right click on the My Computer icon, and select properties. Then go to perfomance, and click on graphics. Make sure the slider for hadware acceleration is at full. Then click start, go to run, and in the run box, type "dxdiag". Click on the display tab, and make sure the lines that read "Direct3d Acceleration:" and DirectDraw Acceleration:" both say "Enabled". If they don't, enable them with the buttons on the right.
