Marduk spanking my Pyro rear-end
Calli

Ouch..Ouch...!!
Playing a Pyro only wiz against Marduk nets me a BIG zero.
Entering level 10 there's no TIME to make two manaliths, make/guardian two Phoenixs and tell manahoars to guard me. Marduk is all over me. Usually he's got me in two-three minutes. Any variation in my creating results in faster death. Mana regen is too slow. Any hits?
(btw, Marduk skirts the firewall and volcano)

(I've been at this for six hours)
Thanks!

cast rage on the first big group of units comeing in, then volcano them. Try to steal another 5 souls.
keep guardian until you have 5 guardian pheaonix's.

Do not make any thing besdies pheonix's and manhoars. make sure you have extra souls incase a manahoar dies and marduke steals it

JohnyFire.. :-(
I did as instructed.
Need to be real close to cast rage and it really didn't do anything. After I backed up quickly to cast volcano, then Marduk and company swept over me and guardian'd phoenix in like 6 seconds. I've never died so fast.
:-(
Any other ideas?

ok try this.
cast one manalith, cast the other. Make the manaliths before you make the pheonix's so your mana will regen fast enuff to cast phoenix twice in time. Tie both pheonix's to the manalith on your left even if they do get close to you still cast rage on them. cuz your pheaonix wont really kill each other.

then see if you can run behind them and cast volcano so it doesnt actualy kill your creatures. make it a safe distance so it will actualy hit them but not you. odds are you wont need to do this.

Any souls you have extra you can try gardian but odds are marduk will just take them.

Creatures worth guardianing are. Tickferno's Pyromaniacs, bombards, warmongers, pheaonix's. But for the first attack pheonix's are the only way cuz the other troops die fast.

If markdukes troops get close cast dragon fly on the creatures. Shoot fireball into a group of lvl 1 flying creatures. Cast firewall under them any ways incase they get low. Cast rain of fire or what ever it is on them also, but make sure you dont cast it on y our self. you must use every spell you can on them and make sure that the spell wont harm your creatures.

You are not useing your spells correctly becuase thats the only way i know how to survive agaisnt markduke.

Hmm. My general plan would go like this, but it may not be possible for a newbie to pull off. Anyway, here is what I would do.

Minimap-select manahoars, set them as group 4 (my 'hoars are always group 4), tell them Phalanx and Guard. This should put you at or less than 2 seconds elapsed time.
Make the left Lith, then the right. Make a Warmonger. Tell him to attack one of your manahoars. Guardian him. Make a second Warmonger. Grab the soul from the dead manahoar. Guardian the second Warmonger.
Go to the left Lith, make a Phoenix. Guardian it.
Keep your units healed, particularly the Warmongers. Have the Warmongers attack Marduk.

Now, if you got enough Boons, you would have a very high maximum mana level and could make a Warmonger along with the first (left) manalith, and Guardian it before making the right manalith. This would leave you with a Phoenix and a Warmonger on the Left, and one Warmonger on the Right. However, that may not be possible for you.
If that doesn't work for you, just go with 2 Phoenixes and save up some mana for spells.

Correct spell use is important. You can delay him with Firewall and pound him with various other things, particulary Rain of Fire, Firewall, and Dragonfire. Almost every Pyro spell is a damaging spell of some kind. Once you have thinned out his army you will need to actually kill Marduk (which is why I prefer Warmongers despite their frailty), finish off his high-level units, and convert.

Once you get enough of his souls that you can venture away from your manaliths, you will need to put some thought into your force. I would recommend 2 Phoenixes to absorb damage, placed in Line so they don't get in the way when casting Explosion or Rain of Fire. Then I would put four or so Warmongers in Phalanx and hotkey them for use in killing Marduk. If you wish and you find yourself with surplus souls, a pair of Bombards wouldn't be amiss for softening up Guardians. But basicly, Warmongers to dish it out, Phoenixes to take it.
