Supermarkets selling games at crazy prices... I was in Morrisons (UK Supermarket chain) and they were selling GTA San Andreas at it's original RRP from 2004. I shit ye not. Supermarkets are weird, they just seemingly have no idea how to price games. They'll sell old games are sky-high prices, and sell new games at stupidly low ones. ASDA (Owned by US chain Wal Mart) was doing stupid trade-ins at one point, where they'd give almost the 2/3rds the retail price for 2nd hand games from 5 years ago and crazy shit like that. They stopped doing it because they were bleeding money. Anyone seen any of these bonkers prices? XD |
Re: Supermarkets selling games at crazy prices... Wait. They think £45 is a good price? I paid less than half that brand new. |
Re: Supermarkets selling games at crazy prices... They probably make a ton of money. Most of their customers are moms with no idea about games except that they heard perhaps somewhere that GTA is one of the games that kids play these days. |
Re: Supermarkets selling games at crazy prices... That, and they have no concept of Steam and it's insanely-low prices. I do know Gamestop in the US is criticized for price gouging used games, but even they don't sell games that old for a lot (unless it's a game like CoD which is insanely popular). |
Re: Supermarkets selling games at crazy prices... I was actually in a GameStop recently, and the prices on their used games are insane right now. You can get FIFA 2014 or something(I can't recall which, to be honest) for about €0.6. 5 DKK. It's crazy. |
