Big Q about Charnel level 4

Its the 4'th stage where u work with Scorcha, Pyros sorceress.

Anyway, the question is, i was playing that stage and we were locked in a bit of a deadlock...i'd position myself outside the enemy "base" and everytime they came out, i would slaughter them even tho i had way fewer creatures, so the sorc would be able to get his souls back and retreat or die. We repeated that for a bit untill i killed the enemy sorc and he just stayed dead. Why?

Is it possible Scorcha circled around and desecrated him while i was taking it to him? It was really wierd, but not unwelcome

I have found that it is pretty common that you will find yourself in a bit of a stalemate type situation like you describe. The enemy attacks, you slaughter him/it. But he/she is able to scoop up his/her souls before you can convert.

What I do in those situations is try my hardest to focus ALL firepower on the wizard as soon as possible. Basically, you need to make taking down the enemy sorceror your #1 priority. If you can take him out, then usually you can whack at least one of his other creatures and grab a soul or three =).

If that doesn't work, forget about his forces for a while and try taking out some of his manaliths. That will at least reduce his mana regen thus giving him less speed ups.

Another tactic I used sometimes is to find one of his manaliths that has some guardianed creatures. Then I try to engage the enemy somewhat near that manalith (or at least be ready to charge for that manalith later) and after I kill the opposing wizard, I go to his guardianed manalith, and attack it like mad. Usually I can kill his guardianed creatures while the wizard is still dead, and thereby gain a few souls.

Hope that helps.

Good post, Threshold.

I can only add that sometimes it is helpful to fall back in order to increase the distance between battle place and manalith/altar. It will take more time for enemy wizard to travel.
