The next-gen consoles

There is a general console discussion but we don't get much going on over there, so here it is.

We had the PS4 released this past Friday, and the Xbox One will be released this coming Friday. Both are trying to get early momentum fast, and I think in particular Sony wants to avoid the weak entrance they made with the PS3 at release, and Microsoft wants to ensure they carry over their dominance from the previous generation.

As far as release catalogs go I'm not too interested in either, enough to warrant an early purchase, but there are some good looking ones (gameplay, I don't know), like Killzone Shadowfall for PS4, though they seem to be at this stage more of "hey guys this is what our consoles are capable of!" which launch titles seem to be a lot of now, which reviews of Killzone Shadowfall have echoed.

As far as Metacritic shows me, the Xbox one has some favorable reviews for Dead Rising 3, but the other big title, Ryse, has had its reviews embargoed until release, which usually isn't a good sign.

So far there aren't any games worth the investment, in my opinion. And even when they start to appear I'll probably prefer to wait for a port or ignore the title.

PS4 got a lot of flack on units arriving borked.

Considering I've seen it called "QTE: The Game" more than I've seen it called by its actual name, yeah I can see why. =p

Hi again!

I attended the Xbox one tour in Philadelphia and I have to say I was thrilled and fucking amazed by the controller itself... even the game and console did not grab my attention, the controller made my day. Its vibration on the triggers and joysticks are mind blowing. Especially when I played Forza 5 when I pull the brakes, I can feel the vibration on the trigger area... it was an unique experience.

Anyway, I played Dead Rising 3 way too much, It had a 15 minute demo, I played it at least 5 times. It was addicting already. Amazing graphics, gameplay, and experience. I am sold.

Here are some photos of the Xbox Tour (I know it is a little late but whatever)

My Xbox Day one edition will arrive soon, and I am thrilled.

Dead Rising 3 looked good, but I can just wait for it to come to PC.

As far as I know, Dead Rising 3 is going to be an Xbox One exclusive, with no plans to put it on other platforms. :S

I got official notice today that my console is in the mail... Sufficed to say.. I'm psyched.
