I've played Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, so this'll be a buy for me I think. It seems that it didn't try to introduce new things but build upon the system they already had, I guess like Infamous 2 did. Still, I'll get around to a copy when I have more time open up because I like Batman in general.
From looking at review on other sites, there was a lot mentioned about bugs and other errors being seen in many copies of the game, particularly on the Xbox and Wii editions- though it has occurred in the PC and PS3 too. Most of this seems to revolve around save corruption and crashes.
It has gotten to the point that WB has issued an apology for the state of the game at release. It's odd that even after a day-one update that this still came up, it would seem that the game probably was rushed to meet this deadline.
I suppose that's a benefit for me waiting until I have some time to really sit down and play a game.

Those are some of the worst kind. I can't tell you how absolutely enraging it is to have made it so far into a game and died, only to find out that you have to fight through the same crop of enemies again...

What's worse is in many cases players haven't been able to salvage this and have had to start over altogether. On the console at least it operates by autosaves/checkpoints so if that save is goofed up you can't revert to an earlier one. As far as I can remember from Arkham City I think that the console always had two or three saves on hand but the player could only access one of those.
This seems like a pretty big thing to miss in QA testing, suppose that would add to the accusations that this game was rushed on its release date. As I said before probably another reason for me to wait for now, as much a comic fan I am.

Agreed 500%, or how about having to start ALL OVER? That recently happened to me with another game. I was, however, able to demo Origins, and from what I saw, I really liked it. However, if it is having crash and corruption issues...can't say I'm that willing to pay to break my heart.
Is there any word on about when it will be fixed? or is this just the game itself?
Like a sigh piercing the moon,
It shines white, and scatters red.

The developer is looking at it and are asking their fans to be patient with them as they try to work though it. So they're actively working on it, but as of right now it's not completely fixed. They seem to be focusing first on some problems with certain missions with characters disappearing, batman pc being glitched through the floor or walls, or failing to trigger altogether.
That being said not everyone is having these problems (plenty of done let's plays of this all the way through with out a major issue) but they're happening frequently enough to cause a lot of anger in the community.
