I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but the Toshiba laptop ain't as good as you may think. The performance is just fine but the hardware isn't. Put another way, Toshiba laptops break all the time. I know because I work on these things all the time. The hard drive is usually what goes out on them first, followed by a bunch of other problems. A word of advice, when you get another laptop, spend a little extra money and buy quality. Not that I'm dissing you for buying the Toshiba or something. I'm just trying to warn you of what will happen.

Just a word to you absolute hardware junkies out there: I recently picked up a Toshiba notebook (techra 8100) with the new s3 savage mx w/8mb vram. This machine runs Sacrifice great! Some features don't work, but what's there can run at 30FPS at 1024x768 (on a freakin' notebook!). The screen is beautiful. Much better than my Dell 7000.

Those of you with slower machines: don't worry, we're not tailoring the game for my notebook http://forums.voodooextreme.com/smile.gif . I just thought I'd mention this news for anyone in the market for a notebook that can run next-gen games well.

Also, it only weighs about 5.5 lbs (w/battery). I got the one with the 650mhz speedstep proc. Set to 500 (neat option), it still runs just fine.

Killer machine! http://forums.voodooextreme.com/smile.gif

I can't wait to see what Nvidia's NV11 mobile geforce chip can do. This S3 chip doesn't even have hw T&L and it still kicks butt.

Should be ok Hendie. Not very smooth, but ok. There may still be some optimizations done though.

Sting Ray: yeah, I did run into one hardware problem that kept he machine from booting, but I managaed to fix it myself. So, I can see where you're coming from. Still, now that its running smooth, I have nothing but praise so far. I just wish it did multi-texturing and fogging properly.
