So far announced: the controller, 8 GB RAM (PS3 had 256 mb) and GDDR5 video card. Impressive. Those memories are very fine for current high-end PC games and considering how console games are better optimized and the OS is lighter.
The price will be interesting, I guess the hardware might surpass Microsoft's.
It's not your connection, everyone is getting it. Sony are shite.
Doesn't help that it's an incredibly boring press conference.
EDIT: I ended up finding a somehow better stream a short time after my original post, turns out it was a big waste of my time. Boring press conference. Devs spoke for a few minutes, showed some videos of games they're working on, rinse and repeat for 2+ hours of that. Didn't even show what the console looks like.

Of course not. Hardware and software is the easy part, making it look like something the console fanboy/sheep will buy is the hard part.
Sheep? Ok, whatever.
I'm just saying it would have been nice to see what the PS4 will look like. It was just a kind of boring and repetitive press conference. It reminded me of a school talent show, someone walks on stage, shows off their stuff, walks off stage as the next performer walks on, and nothing they show really wows me.

Who cares? If you're actually going to buy one, you're not buying it for what it looks like, you're buying it for what it does. Either way, I won't be buying one. I have a PS3 for BluRay, and Xbox for games, because I prefer it, but that's just me.
And no I'm not an xbox fanboy, I preferred PS3 for 5 years before realizing Microsoft did a much nicer job of a games console.
Do all controllers have the touch-screen thing? I hope not. I held the Wii one at my friends house and it just felt too awkward in my hand, although that's because I'm used to regular controllers/gaming mice.

Who cares? A lot of people. While it's not necessary in regards of purchasing, some people like to know what it looks like to judge how big it's going to be.

Too bad the only games for it are Halo and Call of Duty.

I don't think they needed to change the DualShock controller at all, why mess with success?
I wanted to see what the console looked like, it was supposed to be an unveiling right? So why not unveil the look of the goddamn thing? You don't see Chevy or Ford unveil a new car by spending 3 hours talking about the various features and things you can do with the car without ever showing you the car.

Please don't mistake it as a personal attack. It was supposed to be a joke about the state of the market and the average teen shopping habits.
As for the car unveiling comparison, they do often talk about what's new under the hood long before they unveil the body design.
