Abombination or Mutant?
tremor
January 12th, 2001 10:14 PM
Which is better, the abombination or the mutant? The mutant has that healing shower thing and the Abombination regenerates as it attacks, or the mutant regenerate too because its persep.? Which attack is better? I've really only used the Abombination and I like it A lot, but if the Mutant is better I guess I'd rather use that. HELP!

I'd prefer mutants, especially if you got Animate dead, you can let it heal your guys and then get it back.

abominations have a little less health but steals half its life from the damage it causes
abominations cause more damage and fire faster

but i much prefer bombards to both

I prefer mutants simply because abominations generally end up hurting my own units more then the enemies when I am attacking with melee troops, also, abominations are just plain weak and if you can anything close enough to them, they are finished.

Mutants heal 75% faster than most other units because they belong to Percy. And that Healing effect is quite useful when you have them in groups.
On the other hand, Abominations regenerate when attacking and have the dripping trail attack, which can be useful when you can't get a direct hit, or when you are attacking a Lith with a lot of guys in fron of it.

Mutant comes with Healing Aura, which is a quite powerful spell, Abomination comes with Wailing Wall, which is a paper tiger aside from it's mana draining abilities. It won't do anything to units but might give the Wizard some momentary difficulties.

Mutant comes after Gremlin, and has 3 possible branches.
Abomination comes after Deadeye, and has 2 possible branches.

Abominations constrict your prior and later mission choices much more than Mutants, and don't have such a nice spell. I will go for Mutants myself.

Also, check out Messenger's stats post. That has some of the numbers.

wailing wall is very useful not only against wizards but ranged units
without mana they cant fire so they are worthless and can be attacked easily by melees
thats the point of wailing wall
