So, if you where lucky enough to get a early access key, I hate you.

Anyways, so whos going to do this? I've been trying for a few hours to get one, but have failed.

Bungie was giving out keys.

Earlier tonight they gave out a 1000. Yet i could not get a single one, and I was there within a minute of them posting them....

I was hitting refresh on Bungie's Twitter feed for 2 hours last night, trying to get a Reach beta key from them early. I was always too slow when typing in the various keys that appear.

So I won't be on until late Monday evening. Mainly because, I work during the day.

I wanted to get a review of it up on Halofiles.com before anyone else got to play. It's not going to happen now. :(

Maybe you can ask them for a key since you're part of a gaming review website.

FF is quite large now.

If another thread is any indication, a lot of folks here aren't exactly fans of Halo. If asked for a key, Bungie would probably respond 'lol' and make you wait like everyone else.

Not if he comes from halofiles, when I started a mod for a game before it was even out, the company gave me and my crew beta keys to play with it.

Seriously though, I would ask them directly, if I didn't suck at writing formal letters. I would need some kind of proof as I expect they get users claiming to be someone important all the time. If I post a formal request on their forums, it will either get locked or spammed to hell. And I can't exactly afford to make a long distance call to the states just to ask if 'I can haz Reech betar ki, lol?'.

Also, it's a b*tch trying to get a direct email address for anyone important since the only email address displayed are the web masters and tech help on the forums.

If ODST came with keys (I guess it's just a download), I would have let you used mine because I'm not going to use it.

ODST came with access, just not early access with the keys bungie was giving.

The beta is a 2 week event. You can download it at any point during that time when you get your internet connection sorted out.

For anyone who has played it, Halo Reach could be described as the bastard child of Battlefiled and Halo .

Weapon models look amazing and the game has less hick ups than Halo 3 - it was pretty polished for a beta.

Gameplay wise it's the best halo yet. It combines everything I loved about Halo and it got rid of everything I hated about them as well. However, i'm not to keen on the whole health pack thing, if your eyes aren't sharp you won't be able to find them

The good points there outweigh the bad points so I don't see how Reach would be the "bastard child" of the franchise.

And about the health packs. Have you never played Halo 1 or ODST? :rofl:
EDIT: Been playing the beta since the day it went live. Primary reason as to why I haven't been very active lately. That, and work. Been meaning to add a dozen or so files to the halofiles site that I help run. I have Friday all to myself so i'll be a lot more active on the network then.
On the Reach beta itself, it is pretty good. I don't like the overuse of jetpacks though. Would also have preferred to have the playlists that were promised to us by Bungie that would be in the beta.

Re guarding the jet packs, i never saw a huge abundant use of them. i usually saw people tend to use armor lock

I like Reach a lot, even if the beta has its fair share of annoyances. I really hope the retail game has a SWAT playlist.

Im not sure how you find Swat entertaining in the slightest. I do however enjoy invasion increadbly enjoyable and the objective based gameplay.
