I know others have this same problem... it's not as frequent as the TimeSync bug during a multiplayer game (can't you ping through another player to see if one of the players is still alive or just disconnect and reconnect to the game rather than waiting for 10 seconds to see if they are there... disconnecting and reconnecting should not take longer than 10 seconds anyways... ah nevermind... that's a whole different topic... hehhhe.)

Ok, the VxD Blue Screen of Death. This is what happens... this does *NOT* happen during gameplay. Usually it happens with four players in a game room (before the game starts). It could be when the host or somebody leaves the game when the host clicks start or something... I don't know. This is an excerpt from the *.err file:

The multiplayer map was Star (not a custom map) but the funny thing was Mordof had a 0 (and only 0) on one of the circle buttons (y'know... like if he was downloading a map)... but like I said... the number just stood at 0. He also didn't respond in the chat room, so I guess he froze. As soon as Mordof left the room, I got the VxD Blue Screen of Death and had to do a cold boot.

Hope I can get some answers. This doesn't happen all the time, BTW... but when it does, it's a pain in the asymptote (times two).

When you got the BSOD, did it happen to mention which vxd the error occurred in? Also, I'm assuming you're not running any other programs in the background... and if you haven't already, you will probably want to install Patch 2. Thanks.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. Unfortunately, BSODs doesn't give much information... like it tells you I guess the location of where the fault is in your RAM in Hex code... but that doesn't do any good because there is absolutely no recovery from it, and BSODs doesn't give any details (like which file is causing it). But, I did a Find files and folders with *.vxd and I came up with two paths of cause — it's either the audio drivers or one of the DirectX drivers. Since I upgraded my audio drivers... I doubt it's that problem (I have Turtle Beach 1 sound card, BTW).

So, the chances that it came from one of the DirectX drivers is probably the answer. Ddraw... dsound... dplay... ???... probably DirectPlay.

I remember Choopy in the Sacrifice forum said that when he got one of these VxD's that it said in his *.err file that it was linked to a gamespy.dll ...but I never got that in my *.err file.
