Default Dragon Age: Origins

Anyone here buy this game yet? I only just recently started eying it, and it's gotten good reviews. Dunno if it is worth the full $50 though. I haven't played Mass Effect so don't use that in comparison.

I don't have the 60+ hours they say it will take to beat the game on easy and if you stick to just the main quests... I might get it when it goes down in price some

I'm still waiting on Arkham Asylum and Borderlands

It sounds cool and I wub Bioware so I will buy it, haven't bought it yet. I got different priorities right now so I wouldn't have much time for it.

But long SP RPGs are win, and Bioware is pretty damn good at what it does.

^Agreed. Bioware make awesome games.

I'm hopefully going to get it tomorrow, depending on whether they sell out or not. It looks pretty damned awesome though.

I bought it, and right now I'm playing as a human warrior. So far it is pretty awesome, but it took awhile for me to get used to the controls and combat as I've always been more into real-time combat as in Morrowind and Oblivion. It can be pretty challenging and you really have to make use of all of your special abilities, and make use of pausing during combat to issue orders.

I bought it of amazon.co.uk for 30 euros but it'll take a few days before it arrives. This game got very good reviews and the previous RPGs by Bioware were ok too. Some even say this is the best Bioware game since Baldur's Gate, so that got my attention.

Was a bit disappointed with Mass Effect's skills. TOO LITTLE.

Default Re: Dragon Age: Origins

It's definitely bigger than Mass Effect, Mass Effect tried to appeal to those who liked action, which requires player skill, and not so much character skills. I rented the game, mainly because I can't afford to buy it at the moment.

Now, I've only played for two hours, and there is one thing that bugged me, a minor spoiler ahead
Spoiler:

It seemed awfully cliche when you were the only one to survive the joining ritual, this may just be me, but at some point I would actually like a game where you're the underdog struggling to be accepted, but it seems all games just hand you everything on a silver platter and say your character is special somehow.

The only thing I'm curious about is why the system requirements lists 20 GB of hard drive space... why does it need that much?
