I tend to use the line for my ranged but it depends on the situation. Like if there isnt a lot of room eg. a canyon ill use wedge.

Soul Muncha: I usually have them guard me but maybe send some sped-up scythes or applicable level one melee units ahead to the enemy's ranged.

If the enemy is building a manalith eg the middle one on Alpine Meadow, I'll send them in as quickly as I can to take the wizard down.
