yeah this is awesome, it was like this with the baldurs gate 2 boards at bgdungeon.com, nice and friendly

u hardly get that with a game like d2 or sc cause way too many ppl play the game so the only ppl u talk to are personal buddies and really friendly ppl

thx!

It's great that Sacrifice has high requirements and takes use of the awesome computing and graphics card power that is now available in newer machines. It also helps keep most of the kiddoes from coming into Sacrifice and ruining the game for others.

I was initially quite pleased with this thread. Very inciteful, very upbeat. Especially with Ark, those are some sentiments that I have shared for a long time. I imgaine most people who behave poorly online would not do so when face to face. It's almost as if they are no longer interacting with anyone if they can't see them.

Unfortunately Ekti I think you're totally off the mark on this one. Implying that lower system specks yields immature gamers is totally incorrect. In actuality many kids have good computers by virtue of their parents. Us poor college students are the ones still sitting on our older comps.

I played online games when I was a "kiddo" and I behave the same way I do now. Sure my vocabulary is a bit larger and I'm probably slightly better at these games but my style has remained the same. Easy going, playing for fun, pretty much following the golden rule. Now I do agree with you on one point.
I find that with each passing year I tolerate the idiots online less and less. Personally I'm tired of people typing in all caps or kewl dood speech. Profanity and racial slurs are also unwelcome but appear to be more and more frequent.

That said I really think that the more popular a game is the greater proportion of losers you'll have. Let's compare two modern games, Diablo II and Sacrifice. I've played both extensively and let's face it. Diablo II is far more popular than Sacrifice. Therefore it's not unreasonable to assume that proportionally there will be more immature people online. Whether or not it's a better game is debatable but it is most definitely NOT Blizzard's fault. It's nice to see a company sacrifice eye candy to make a fun game available to a wider audience.
