Default Max Payne freezes at video

In Part 1 Chp.7 I see some stairs as I walk around a corner. Then the game switches to a video of an elevator going up, and just game just sits there at the image of the elevator and does not go back to max payne. Can anyone help me out.

Installed the patch.
