Flying elevation..

It would be great if we could control the hieght at which our flyers hover.

This would add a lot of tactical breadth to the game.. being able to attack from above, hiding flying units low to the ground, behind a wall of melee, etc etc.

i dont know how difficult it would be to implement.. but even a formation system would be good enough. Where key1 = high elevation, key2= normal (current elevation) key3= low elevation.

Itd also make rhinoks a bit less usefull.. since fliers could avoid their spikes by flying higher.

Cool idea.. http://www.veforums.com/smile.gif But wouldn't it make Sacrafice easier? I mean, if you can control the, you make them fly on the highest elevation. Then you can fly to the back of the enemies altar and crush him from behind. This would make Scarafice a whole lot easier if you use this strategie with silverbacks/dragons/hellmouths. But I like it.

Err... In an MP game, when both can do this it won´t be "easier" for anyone, duh?

That'd be scary :-) Suddenly stuff just starts raining down on your troops from above, I'd hate to have to start angling my camera around... But an interesting thought.

Damn, I have trouble seeing some flyers as it is...

I'd still like it though. http://www.veforums.com/smile.gif

God that would be so cheap it wouldnt be funny (actually it almost would http://www.veforums.com/smile.gif ) Picture this: A fleet of 6 silverbacks flying too high for the enemy to see. They think your gonna loose the battle, and suddenly, your silverbacks converge on him. Hes done. Or how about this scenerio, you have a large fleet of lvl1 flyers, and you just fly them to your oppenent, then destroy him at his alter boefre he could do anything. Rhinoks and such wouldnt be able to attack them anymore, it would just plain cause too many nerf requests, and complaints.

But... a limit to this, who knows, i would sure use it http://www.veforums.com/wink.gif

Flyers take a rather long time to come down from high heights...

Don't forget that having creatures like Silverbacks flying too high wouldn't be that smart... yeah they might be hard to catch, but they can't do anything since they aren't in range to use their attacks, especially with Dragons.
