I'm sad and alone!
 

Well, it has been a whole 3 hours since I've been on the board which makes me sad and alone http://www.veforums.com/frown.gif. You wanna know why? I killed my CPU! I was adding a new fan, overclocking it, yada yada yada...it's now dead. I think it got too hot http://www.veforums.com/frown.gif. I'm now forced to get on my Dad's crappy ass computer. I can't stand to talk on this ghetto thing and I don't know if my dad will buy me a new CPU so it will be a while till I come back. Try not to have too much fun without me everyone! Memorial services for my CPU are tomorrow and sunrise.

You overclocked without a spare CPU or two? Fool! When I overclocked my old machine, I bought 3 CPUs, plugged the first in, overclocked, it screwed up, took it out, plugged a new one in, overclocked, it screwed up, took it out, plugged a new one in, overclocked, and it worked. Then, I simply took the other 2 to the local Fry's Electronics for a refund. Easy as that. I guess it depends on what you're overclocking though. I could afford several $100 Celerons at the time (man was I rich back then).

Yeah, well i was off of it for about 5 days while i reformated. Sorry to hear about your computer dying. Actually i have some good news. When i start up, i have 98% system resources free http://www.veforums.com/smile.gif ive been trying to get higher than my 95% for about 4 months.

Kids today are spoiled as hell. I had to work in a junk yard scraping iron for my first car but children today just expect to get one for their Bday. Hehehehe. What a riot.

Yea, the comp thing sucks. I never try overclocking. I just upgrade.

I can't really afford to buy new hardware and upgrade all the time. I can't really save for a car and buy comp parts at the same time. O well.

No u dont get it get a crappy celeron or duron for a few quid to hold you over (if your mother board can hold it) and save up for a T-bird.
Cause by the time you have saved up the one u want would have went down in price or a better one will be there.

I run what is today considered a lower end system--a 550 mhz Athlon w 192 megs ram. But I have a Gforce2 and that helps a lot. I run the graphics in Sacrifice with all the eye candy turned up and have very little video or system lag so I figure why mess with overclocking. I spent about $150.00 on the Gforce2.

I've been having problems with my Cable Modem serivce for the past 4 days, and have been using 56k dialup access for the past few days.

This is a living hell.

Actually, I WILL NOT buy a Duron to hold me over. My board can hold it but I'm not going to buy one. A duron 750 is only 10 bucks cheaper than a T-Bird 750. I can't get a T-Bird 750 for 70 bucks at an online store. I'd like a 1gig though. However that's 170 or so. I'll probably just overclock a 750 T-Bird to reach 1gig speeds instead of buying one for 170.
