Better then GW GURU

I don't see to many people posting here...wondering if the only place to find GW talk is Guildwarsguru.com...It's incredibly slow and the admins are offended easyly..posted some criticism of a AN nerffing a while back and wanted to see what the thoughts of the community were to these nerfs..my post was removed....posted again and my post was locked out within minuets of posting then removed.None of my posts violated any of the rules or terms of use.I must assume that the Guru site just didn't like what I had to say...Now for some criticism on the recent hero/pet nerffings..My Primary character is a Ranger,been playing him since the game came out.With the advent of hero's I was able to go anywhere in the game setup as a B/P group(Barrage/Pet) I spent hours and hours capturing and leveling pets for all my hero's.When a pet died my MM hero was able to pull a minion out of the corpse so we always had a fresh supply of minions wherever we went...be it U/W,FoW,DoA....etc. Well as it turns out someone at AN doesn't like people using B/P groups and nerffs the ability of the MM to pull minions out of our fallen pets because they now deem it an exploit although the enemy can still do it...guess the enemies are using an exploit too? Another problem is with the ranger heros...The one advantage a ranger has over other characters is when on an elevated area,the ranger(with a longbow)can shoot beyond the aggro circle...We don't do massive dmg like an ele or other casters..we just have range..Well now,if you equip a ranger hero with the exact same bow as you and flag them next to you on a hill top,they will not move or shoot an arrow (even though you are hitting a target) until that target comes within the aggro circle.So,now me and my ranger guildies can't do some of the areas or dungeons we were able to do in the past and it would seem others are having problems with this too.Rarely do you see people putting groups together to do a tough dungeon in HM(Hard mode)anymore;instead we hire one of the many dungeon runners to do all the work for us.It's not as satisfying to watch someone do all the work but at least you can get the dungeon done now.I am sure if I spent hours and hours I could perfect a build to do the dungeons and areas in HM but,when you work for living and you just want to jump into a game and play before bedtime or work,this makes the game a little tough.How many others feel this way about this? Am I way off base here or am I just one of many that don't like being told how to play a game?

There are many places to find the same builds people are using. You go with the flow. You can hire a runner or do the build yourself. MANY people are using the tomes to create these builds.

You aren't being told how to play it. You can either do it, or not.

We've been trying to get a Guild Wars network site set up for ages, but apparently, 'submitted file content' is the primary criteria as opposed to bulk of information so it's a no-go.

I'm considering making a renewed effort with Guild Wars 2 around the corner though.

I would second that site, Kouen, there's more to a game then just files, look at IGN sites, they're mostly MMO's with no or very few files coming throuhg but they post a lot of guides and weapon stats which is helpful.

I agree with the both of you. Why should this company and it's people be left out of the waters just because there are no files to be had ? Makes no sense.

Thanks for the laugh. I literally sat there chuckling for a good 5 minutes when I viewed those 'builds'. The people on that site obviously have no clue whatsoever. I've seen nothing better than a mediocre build there, and most of them are downright awful.

If you want at least decent builds, get them from PvXwiki.
