Do Necryls Suck?

well... do they?

Kaervek January 7th, 2001 06:41 AM

I don't have them in my custom spellbooks, because I think vorticks and Scarabs are better, but the poison they shoot forbids healing, so your opponent can't heal their creatures anymore. And the poison spreads by contact, so it can affect an entire army!

i dint know that necrels stop healing... i might have to review my spell books... say what spell do you get with the necrel?

Kafka222 January 7th, 2001 06:55 AM

i think its the locust shield, i might be wrong. haven't played charnel in a while

Kaervek January 7th, 2001 08:54 AM

Yup, protective swarm.....
It's a quite loosy shield IMO
I thought Necryls stopped healing, but can somebody tell me whether or now I'm right?

Necryls stop healing, not Healing.
They keep creatures from regenerating, but don't stop Heal spells, Rainbow, etc.
Necryls are pretty good against Guardians and other units that are hard to kill because they regenerate life. However, the effect is somewhat negated if the enemy Wiz is there to Heal the units.

I believe that the necryl's attack does allow enemy creatures to be unable to be healed by the Heal spell. They are still able to be healed however by rainbow or healing aura.

Kaervek January 7th, 2001 10:57 AM

Sorry, my mistake.....
THX!
So all poisons of Charnel only stop the regerating of live by creatures itself?

Kaervek January 7th, 2001 10:59 AM

Oh, Terminatour(did you ever play TaK btw?) was just ahead of me.
I will check the necryls tomorrow at my network....

I have observed it in-game. Regular Heal works just fine on diseased creatures. They are reasonably good nonetheless.
Tickfernos are also somewhat underrated.
