Its a virtual network program that can possibly give a hacker access to every single file on your entire computer (like as if they were setting at it themselves) if it isn't set up properly | Ha, thats the first thing I thought about as soon as I read about this... I thought about at my parents house over christmas...
During christmas My mom's side of the family all came to town, and alot of the guys like to play BHD (Black Hawk Down) and so we set up I think 8 PC's in the basement, and since My dad works at a church and is pretty technically litterate for being 44, he brought home a big ass router, and we hooked all the PC's up to our internet. and then we all played BHD for awhile...
BUT while I was there, and without my knowing, My brother was able to copy all my music files to his new computer.
The thing was, I had apperently set my music folder to be shared over my network, and didnt even know it, so you have to know what folders and files may be set to be shared, before you do something like this.
there may be other hazzards, but I'm not all that smart about PC Security, I just dont download alot of stuff I dont know about, anyone know of others? |
