What is the whole story of Sacrifice about ? I have play it and I don't understand what happen in this cool game ? PS: What is rooster ? I really what to know. ------------------ Hello. My name is Vittavat. Sacrifice is rarely hit in Thailand. But, I do love it. |
I smell a rooster, wait... or is it a llama. ------------------ Waxax aka TrollBoss |
I think Mithras sacrifices himself into Marduk, who then damnes himself by taking Mithras's soul, which them causes Marduk to inhabit Mithras's body, but the original Mithras was the one who spoke the prophesy, but it was planted in him by Marduk, who inhabited him from afar. Or something like that. ~matrx9 |
Yes, does seem mightily suspicious. TheMad ------------------ The light at the end of the tunnel has been shut down due to budget cuts. |
Actually, Marduk was simply Mithras. The prophecy was contrived to make the gods go to war with one another. Jadugar summoned Marduk, and Stratos and Marduk plotted to kill all the gods. If you don't play as Stratos, Stratos is betrayed by Marduk and is killed, if you play as Stratos, Stratos manipulates you into killing Marduk for him. TheMad ------------------ The light at the end of the tunnel has been shut down due to budget cuts. |
It's not like that. The Mithras who speaks the prophecy is the original one, Marduk catches on after Eldred tells him of this. Marduk killed everything in that village at the starting cutscene and killed Mithras and somehow possesed his form. Disguised as Mithras, he decided to let Eldred talk so he could learn what Eldred did thereby suggesting the most easiest way to kill him. |
Actually, I think TheMad is right. It depends on which god you are playing as, but I believe that in Persephone's campaign (could be mistaken) Stratos reveals that he summoned Marduk to sow dissent. Marduk's way of doing this was to appear before the gods as Mithras and speak the prophecy. I am not absolutely positive of this as I dont claim to have played every mission, in particular, I missed most of Charnel's campaign. |
yo shiny! throw us a worm! i STILL don't really know....what mad said COULD be right....and what Mm said COULD be right http://www.veforums.com/biggrin.gif i guess its not THAT important....get back to work on patch3! (((( http://www.veforums.com/biggrin.gif)))) *sits in corner* |
here's my 2 cents... Marduk was summoned by Stratos to sow discord among the gods, Mithras could be an avatar of Marduk and the prophecy was designed to make the gods mistrust each other and fight, but the prophecy isn't actually false (all the events in the prophecy do take place.) also, at the end of the game with James, Eldred says that mithras sacrificiced himself as a martyr blah blah blah... I think the general idea is that marduk betrayed Stratos twice (sort of): the person who spoke the prophecy was actually mithras, but marduk took credit for it. later marduk betrayed stratos properly and killed him, and took mithras' form as a trap for eldred. ------------------ SoulMuncha, Geomancer "There is no spoon" ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! |
This is definately suspicious. The story is about a slug with two (or more) personalities. BFL is a sad little fella, who sometimes cross dresses as a rooster. One day, BFL simply walks off the edge of Hamburger Hill. Why, because he's a slug, of course. Slugs aren't known for there mental capacity. Anyhow, on that day, all the kings horses, and all the kings men, cheered and applauded till the sun set. ...stay tuned for Chapter 2... |
you all forgot to switch on the sp warning: ---ATTENTION SPOILERS AHEAD--- http://www.veforums.com/wink.gif besides i also would say mithras was the real one as he spoke the prophecy but replaced by Marduk later on. Jadugar can not have summoned marduk as stratos has done that(Malleus pointed that out already). Only thing that made me think that TheMad was right is that jadugar new about ashur but mithras did not. But then Eldred said mithras sacrificed himself to save the world, so this seems to prove that marduk is not mithras in the beginning threat ------------------ Cthullhu for president... Why vote for any lesser evil |
FOOLS! ELDRED SUMMONED MARDUK! OR HAVE'NT YOU BEEN WATCHING THE GAME PLAY THROUGH AT ALL! ------------------ http://www.posters.com/glowing/bl-11.jpg |
**SPOILER**(tho its too late if ya read this thread http://www.veforums.com/biggrin.gif) He summoned marduk on his OLD HOME WORLD....not the world where sacrifice takes place When hes talkin' to mith. at one of the cutscenes(marduk in disguise?) he asks "Do you think Marduk FOLLOWED me here? Or was it that Marduk was destined to come here?" hehe the guy screwed up his entire home planet...i doubt he would try to summon him again on prupose http://www.veforums.com/biggrin.gif |
Count to think of it, I also didnt finish the game as James- but now that this has piqued my interest I think Ill give it a shot. |
**Spoiler alert** Haven't answered any questions here in a while but I couldn't resist this one. The basics of the story go like this: 1.) Eldred summons Marduk on his old world of Jhera. Marduk goes out of control and destroys Jhera, only Eldred (with Zyzyx's help is able to escape.) 2.) Eldred Finds himself in the Sacrifice world. Around this time Stratos makes a pact with Marduk to destroy his rivals. Jadugarr becomes Marduk's servant as he wants to see all of the Gods destroyed. 3.) Marduk delivers the false prophecy as Mithras, starting the war of the Gods. Hope that clears things up. |
