Still getting random lock-ups. Shiny please help I had a GeForce 256 video card and I got random lock-ups with Sacrifice during gameplay. The computer would totally freeze and I would have to reboot. I recently ugraded to a GeForce II GTS card, and sure enough the same problem is happening. Could you please try to determine what might be causing this? I love this game and I really want to play it without this annoying thing happening. BTW, I have heard that either disabling AGP Support or Texture Acceraltion can stop these lockups. In DXDiag it seems I only have an option to disable AGP support, I have no texture accelaration option. Are these the same thing anyway? If I disable AGP support the game runs at least 30% slower, probably more. I hope this is not the answer you are going to give me. There has got to be something else I can do. thank you. Please send your dxdiag info to sacrificesupport@shiny.com |
Yeah! try that but don't hold your breath. They never replied to me. I have a ati rage fury 128 and it is still locking up. I manage to reduce the frequency of these freeze by updating my bios ( BX-20, only 2 update , really old). Still I haven't manage to finish one tutorial. It is really nice from shiny to give us all these gorgeous graphic using all the latest technologies, even if none of our hardware can cope with them. I have just lost faith in them... Still I am going to try to finish MDK... |
Try running the game in 640-480 res if this works please can you tell me as i have problems with running the game in 800-600 res or over |
I had the same problem as you... I temporarily solved it by installing the 717 leaked detonator drivers from the GeForce, which removed the lockups but added weird texture errors and made the game unplayable too... Afterwards I upgraded my power supply from 250W to 300W and installed the 647 detonator drivers and oho... Look... The game works perfectly fine, no more errors, no lockups... Perfect... Don't know if it was only the drivers or if the power supply upgrade helped too... Just try the drivers first... (www.reactorcritical.com) http://www.veforums.com/smile.gif |
Ah... and I forgot to mention, I installed DX8.0... |
Been a few days now. Still no word from shiny support. Sent my DXDIAG info to them as instructed. Ugh......... |

BigWizard01 - try clearing more space on your pagefile drive (C: unless you've changed it)... try at least 500 Mb free. Dan |
So your saying Sacrifice needs 500 MB virtual memory plus the 256MB I have in real memory? Wow, I know its an intense game but thats alot. I'll give that a try if you think it needs that much. Thank you for responding. |
try not to use the Detonator Drivers. I had also lockups with these drivers. Get the original manufactors drivers...That solved my problem.... |
