No problem BMan, me loveth FF! Yes it was the village place, I think something funny happened.
Anyway, Tifa was pretty much useless, she had to remember Zack.... is her memory really crap? It has to be, since she should've been the one to shut Cloud up when he told all the lies. You'd think yoir childhood friend would know you better.... ah well. Its still nice to have her around.
In fact, while I'm thinking about it, while FF7 was a very serious game, and the plot twist were amazingly placed to make you drop your jaw, there were some pretty comical moments. The whole date with mainly Tifa/Aeris in Golden Saucer made me laugh. Its said that you can date Yuffie (by someway of getting her way before Junon) and you can date Barret, though I've never seen. Needless to say, if I dated Barret I'd pick to kiss the dragon in the play!
BTW, I cried twice so far in that game, almost 3. The first was Aeris death obviously. Even though I watched my father play it I never remembered how it happened, and when I finally saw it, it broke me. I cried when Cait Sith died, though I don't know why, since I already read that he comes back right after. And I nearly cried when Red re-united with his dad. it wasn't crying persay, it was more of a tear of joy....
I don't know whether or not you'd still go to play with Barret. I did go on a date with him (i was like WTF) but that was a back when the game came, so i don't really remember what happened. And you and me are pretty similar. I cried as well with the Aeris dying thing and when Red XIII was reunited with his father (and to everyone who reads, don't say we're pussies, it was a rather touching moment). When Cait Sith "died", i didn't care that much. And thought that all he said was that he was going to sacrifice the Mog body? And it doesn't REALLY matter because Cait Sith is a robot cat controlled by Reeve, who is a member of Shin-RA, INC. Aeris' death was the biggest tear jerker, and the music playing when you fight Jenova life was really depressing as well, althought eh song was great (listening to it right now). And when you said "No problem BMAN", what's that about?
Oh, just finding the thread and posting in it! Glad to see you around.
When Cait Died I was young, and I kinda liked him, lol. Its funny though, because the whole time my younger brother was telling me not to cry because he's coming right back. I still shed a single tear every time I hear the song "Interrupted By Fireworks" and Aeris's theme. Despite the fact that I was crying, I wanted to kick the crap outta Jenova Life.
You dated Barret? You must've said all the wrong things to Tifa and Aeris. The way it works is your default date is Aeris. But along the whole journey before it, whenever you talk to her and get a choice, theres a good and bad choice. Its not always obvious which is good or bad. Like when first leaving Midgar you ask both Aeris and Tifa something, you get a personal choice (this is the good one) or "Its dangerous, sure you wanna come" which is the bad one.
You have to say good things to the one you wanna date, and keep them in your party often. I've dated both Aeris and Tifa (every mans dream, hehe!) but never Barret.
Yh, all you have to do is say all the mean things to them, to start don't buy a flower from Aeris. And never talk with either of them unless you're forced to. That way, you'll date Barret.
I loved them, most of the voiceovers (if not all) were done by the people who played them in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. I think they were okay.
Where did you see the Jap version? I'm curious, but because of legality if theres an issue where you got it from just say you can't tell me. Everyone saw the Jap with sub-titles way before it came out.
I think the voiceovers were good (i also own it on DVD), especially the one for Vincent. Shogo Shukuzi does a really good job at adding a real deep voice to characters. He also did the voice of Zabuza in the english version of Naruto i believe, so if you've seen taht you can use that as a comparison.
