Woo hoo, stevie came! And yes, you can actually get real replicas of some of the weapons in the game. I know for a fact you can get reproductions for the buster sword, seph's murasame, kadaj's souba sword, Cerberus (Vincent's 3 barrelled gun), and possibly aeris's staff. Other than that, i have no idea.

dont say that i loved FFIX so much harder than FFVII i loved the feel of everyone as i feel they were developed very well

hell the chocobo raising was so much more fun in FFIX. Chocobo hot and cold got addicting, and in that one the gold chocobo actually could fly

BMANN1019 September 13th, 2007 01:51 PM

Well, if an argument is about to ensue, let me just say that we shall keep it civilised, alright?

Anson992 September 13th, 2007 05:10 PM

Or stab the entire thought of an argument with a Buster Sword.... we can agree with that right?

I never got to play FFIX, I always wanted to though. Vivi sold me...
FFVIII was cool, I never finished it though, I wanted to expand on the story fast, so I'm not strong enough to beat Eden at the end of disc 2. Almost did, never did though....

Ya Boi Rajon September 13th, 2007 06:25 PM

FFVIII is my favorite FF(as you can see).

SteviEboY September 14th, 2007 02:02 AM

They tried to over compensate with the cartoony feel in ffix and although you did get quite close with the characters it was like you never really got to know them. In ff7 you were the characters. I didn't like how you used magic or gfs in ffix.

ff8 was great. Not quite as good as ff7 but had some cool new features like the card game you could play.

Anson992 September 14th, 2007 04:05 AM

I could never win that damned card game, I only played it because the music rocks.

BMANN1019 September 14th, 2007 12:42 PM

To be honest, i never really got an understanding of the rules. You'd ask a dude to play, and he'd say, "let's play with Galbadia's rules and Balamb's". And i wish i could say "and those rules are.....what exactly?" Oh, and anakin, when you said eden, i think you mean Edea. Eden was a GF. For that fight against Edea, which i think involved fighting Seifer a few times, i did the cheapest thing to make it so Edea couldn't possibly win. I already knew she had the Death spell, so figured i had to find a place where almost all the monster could have Death drawn out of them. Sure enough, i found the Cetra Shrine, and began the long task of getting 100 Death spells for Squall. Sure enough, Edea tried to kill all of my party members with that, but thx to the Status defense Junction, she couldn't. It was an easy win.

Anson992 September 15th, 2007 07:32 AM

Yeah, I meant Edea, forgot her name its been so long.
But yeah, on Disc two you do have to fight Siefer again I think. I know you have to fight him once, but other times I don't know.

That was a cheesy win you got BMAN, and I would do it, but everybody knows that Anakin992 isn't up for long task!

But this is teh FF7 forum!!! So to avoid the spam I am going to say me love the Ultima Blade!

Liquid fire September 15th, 2007 07:47 AM

hahah. This wont end soon, way too many fan boys.

Ya Boi Rajon September 15th, 2007 01:50 PM

I just bought FFXII and all I have to say is...........THIS GAME IS HELLA TIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Aeroflot September 15th, 2007 03:33 PM

Did you just use 'tight'?

But, anyway, how is the game? Compare it to FF7.

The Fat Controller September 15th, 2007 05:19 PM

I played X-2 and 12 and was pretty disappointed. I think that VII, VIII, IX and X are the ones you want to play first, and then work backwards from there.. But still, they were pretty good games compared to most stuff I've played I think. I can't decide which is my favorite out of 7-10 now!

I'd say...

7 has the best story,
8 has the best balance of graphics and story,
9 has better graphics but is more for little kids, cartoon-like and all,
and 10 has the best graphics and a good story, but the American-voice-dub is so annoying; the main character sounds awful :Puzzled:

What does everyone else think + what's their favorite?

BMANN1019 September 17th, 2007 12:06 PM

You can't judge the games on graphics, cuz that's just wrong. They came out in different genreations, of course soem would have better graphics.

Anson992 September 17th, 2007 03:00 PM

Of course, but graphics are still things I pick out in games. They are one of the important traits, but the least important of the important.

And I still love FF7. Thats why I want them to remake it with the great cast of AC/KH/KH2/DoC and better graphics, than the game would = perfect!

BMANN1019 September 17th, 2007 07:18 PM

Oh, yes, of course pick games out on good graphics, but what i meant was don't judge the graphics of a game from one generation to a newer one, cuz it's just not fair. Of course latest software can produce great graphics for games, but hey, back when FF7 came out, those graphics were considered to be totally sick.

I can't really say I have a favorite Final Fantasy, but I can give my TOP 5!

BMANN1019 September 18th, 2007 05:30 PM

My fav was ff7, obviously. Oh, and from here on out, i'm changing the rules of what this thread was intended to be used to discuss. From this point on, i deem that this thread is open to conversations about all FF games, so thyat our conversations can have a much wider array of diversity.

Ya Boi Rajon September 18th, 2007 05:33 PM

I changed my avi.

BMANN1019 September 18th, 2007 05:36 PM

Oooh, very nice! Seifer=kickass.

Anson992 September 20th, 2007 07:33 PM

Seifer acted like a douche the entire game, I can't say he didn't make me laugh though.... only Zell made me laugh alot more.... especially that whole Hover Board thing he pulled early on in Disc 1.

What do you guys prefer, GF's or Summons?

Ya Boi Rajon September 20th, 2007 07:59 PM

GF's

SteviEboY September 21st, 2007 04:44 AM

Summons

though they were pretty much the same weren't they?

Anson992 September 21st, 2007 04:46 AM

More or less.

I liked Summons a bit more.... its all aobut how they work.
GF's took control of your life, so in a way when you were summoning them you were protected from damage. But if they die you can't use them again until you revive them.

Summons took large amounts of MP, but I sorta liked this better, because I oculd always use ether in battle, and summon them some more.

SteviEboY September 21st, 2007 07:54 AM

eh?

Which FF is this?

Mad Cat MkII September 21st, 2007 06:36 PM

Endless Crisis: Final Fantasy VII google it it has been confirmed to be shown at the Square Enix Tokyo Game Show and i did find this interesting article
PS3Blog.net » Blog Archive » Rumor - Endless Crisis: Final Fantasy VII
it seems that they have done work with that tech demo

....its coming

Anson992 September 22nd, 2007 08:03 AM

Bullshit!!!

Now I'm going to save up to get a PS3.....

Mad Cat MkII September 22nd, 2007 09:20 AM

good thing i already have one then

Anson992 September 22nd, 2007 01:27 PM

Yes, good for you.... but I'm not missing out on Halo 3, Mass Effect, Kane And Lynch. The other 2 ones I want (Army of Two, Assassins Creed) are on the PS3, but I'm getting them on 360.

If anything, I'll just get a PS3 for Final Fantasy VII, and anything that seems like its worth it in later days.

Mad Cat MkII September 22nd, 2007 02:01 PM

but see i could care less about halo3 played one and 2 and never thought they were all that good i mean there nice but not enough to go ga ga over

The Fat Controller September 22nd, 2007 02:29 PM

I'll have to buy/borrow a PS3 eventually just to play FF7, if it comes out. Also with Halo 3... I have to play that too.

Anson992 September 22nd, 2007 06:25 PM

*Proud to have $5 on Halo 3 as he speaks*

Of course, the PS3 will most likely have a lower price by then... I don't see that game coming out in less than another year, I predict 2009 to be the earliest.

BMANN1019 September 24th, 2007 11:54 AM

Wow, i leave, and then the whole conversation changes, lol. Halo 3 out toommorrow. WOO HOO. BUUUUUUUT, that's not what this thread is intented to be talking about.

Anson992 September 24th, 2007 01:49 PM

Yeah, but we were talking about the new FF7 game that may or may not be in the works, and I was just saying if it is, that is when, and only that is when I get a PS3.

BMANN1019 September 24th, 2007 01:53 PM

Wait a minute, you're saying there's going to be another one?! Which is it this time?

Anson992 September 24th, 2007 01:53 PM

7, check the previous page!
Note that I said may or may not.

BMANN1019 September 24th, 2007 02:02 PM

Is there any info on if that will be the remake of the original?

Anson992 September 24th, 2007 04:06 PM

No, as of now we just know thats the end of Crisis Core, and it is going to be called End Crisis..... so if it does get made it will indeed be a remake. Sony could get big bucks for this.... they already have me buying a system just for this game..... doubt I'll get anything else though.

BMANN1019 September 24th, 2007 04:17 PM

LOL, i think you lke FF7 more than me. I love the games, but not enough to buy a PS3, big ripoff.

Anson992 September 24th, 2007 04:19 PM

I know, but if they remake it, it'll be a cold day in hell when I don't get it.

I have to get it. I love my PS1 to death, but it'll look so much better, with the same tatics and story I've come to enjoy. If I save now I'll have $600 by the time it released, though the PS3 won't even be that much when it comes out!

BMANN1019 September 24th, 2007 04:41 PM

Well, that's good. Where do you work?

Anson992 September 24th, 2007 05:52 PM

I work at "I go to "High School." I might be a lifeguard this year at the pool. But mostly saving my scraps, small money my mom gives me sometimes....

SteviEboY September 25th, 2007 01:33 AM

Can someone tell me what FF game has it where your Gaurdian Forces lose life points?

I don't know which one it is, it wasn't nine was it?

Mikouen September 25th, 2007 02:26 AM

You're thinking of FFVIII.

FFIX's Eidolons were standard summoning spells - they called the creature, creature attacked with a bitchin' animation sequence, then went home. Same mechanic as II, V, VI and VII.

FFVIII's Guardian Forces worked the same way, only they had a seperate ATB bar for charging up. While the GF is charging, they protect the summoning character with a seperate HP bar. An "armor" bar, if you will.

FFX's Aeons were actually seperate characters called to the battlefield to take the place of the party members and fight instead.

SteviEboY September 25th, 2007 02:36 AM

I'll have to play FF8 again by the look of it.

I cannie remember that ... HURRAH!!! More Final Fantasy for me!!

World in Conflict September 25th, 2007 03:29 AM

How many FF are there ?:Puzzled:

Mikouen September 25th, 2007 04:16 AM

Numbered? 13. More, actually, because FFXIII is actually a subseries consisting of multiple games. Also, FFXI (the MMORPG) has three expansion packs released.

Non-numbered, spin-offs and side games? Here's a full list of 'em, released and unreleased:
- Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (aka Final Fantasy USA), SNES
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Gamecube

- Final Fantasy 7: Dirge of Cerberus -Lost Episode-, cellphone (Japan only)
- Before Crisis: Final Fantasy 7, cellphone (Japan only)
- Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7, PSP
- Final Fantasy Tactics, PS
- Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, GBA
- Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales, DS
- Chocobo de Mobile, cellphone (Japan)
- Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, DS

- Chocobo's Dungeon 2, PS
- Chocobo Racing, PS

- Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions

- Hataraku Chocobo, WonderSwan
- Chocobo's Dungeon: Labyrinth of Forgotten Time, Wii

There's also four movies, a 25-episode anime series, about a dozen novels/mangas, three radio dramas, six remakes of older FFs for GBA (including the only US/Europe release of FFIII), several compilation releases, strategy guides for every console game to be released in the US, and obviously soundtracks to go with all the games and two of the movies.

(WAY too much free time... Yuppers... >_> )

World in Conflict September 25th, 2007 04:23 AM

WOW thats a pretty big list there.=p

Ya Boi Rajon September 25th, 2007 04:28 PM

Just the more FF I have to play!

Anson992 September 28th, 2007 01:23 PM

Yeah, its an expansive era, I think its in its own universe. A place where Chocobo's run free!
