BMANN1019 August 15th, 2007 08:09 PM

Woo Hoo, we got another fan. I look forward to you contributing to the conversations.

And finally, ffextreme is back up and running.

BMANN1019 August 18th, 2007 08:57 PM

Oh c'mon dudes,i leave for a few days and the thread dies? You make me sad.

Anson992 August 18th, 2007 10:10 PM

Naw... I've been out though. Well, I have the entire soundtrack bought and on my PC. I really love every single piece on there. I would love a remake with all the same songs done by an orchestra, like the AC ones. Would be perfect.

And don't forget that FFXI was on the 360. So you never know....

BMANN1019 August 18th, 2007 11:47 PM

True, but i meant that the majority of them have been made for the PS systems. I couldn't find a place to buy them anywhere, so i just dwnlded the songs i liked form the website in my sig. I just recently started listening to the piano collections, and i have to tell you, they're pretty good. But not the O.W.A, one, it sounded like crap compared to the regular version.

Anson992 August 28th, 2007 07:57 AM

Well I got the entire Soundtrack, as well as the entire AC soundtrack. I'm an FF music head!

BMANN1019 August 28th, 2007 08:07 AM

Wait, you have every single soundtrack?! You're telling me that you have the original, the reunion tracks, the piano collection, and the Advent Children soundtracks? God, and i thought i was an FF7 fan.

Anson992 August 28th, 2007 10:08 AM

I meant the entire Original Soundtrack. And the entire Ac soundtrack. I do have the piano soundtrack, but not the whole Reunion one, I didn't see a point since all but 3 songs were right from the original.

Mad Cat MkII August 28th, 2007 12:27 PM

Yuffie date FTW best girl in that game in my opinion.

only date where you get a kiss

BMANN1019 August 28th, 2007 02:01 PM

Yh, had both those dates in the game. Barret's was just hysterical. Cuz first date i went on was with Yuffie, and then in my next file i was with Barret, and i was totally freaked out.

Warrive August 28th, 2007 09:50 PM

Heh you sure like this thread dont you BMan :P

Anson992 August 28th, 2007 11:35 PM

He loves he! He yelled at me for leaving! I dated Aeris first, then Tifa. Never did either of those two, I didn't get Yuffie until in front on the Temple of Ancients.

I liked the Yuffie one...
"Say something, PLEASE."
".............., something"
*slap*

I rolled on the floor. I'm surprised Yuffie had the guts to kiss him, I woulda though Aeris would've. Maybe Tifa, but she hides it too much. I'm about to watch the Barret one now.... wish me luck, luck that I don't die laughing.

BMANN1019 August 29th, 2007 05:00 PM

Aeris was prob a little shy to do so, and Tifa, well i don't know why she didn't, maybe she just spaced out. Yuffie is like the most straightforward person, having no trouble saying or doing what she wants to, hence the kiss. But yh, don't dide watching Barret. Cuz that would kinda suck.

person_ August 29th, 2007 05:05 PM

I LOVE RENO

that is all :o

BMANN1019 August 29th, 2007 05:11 PM

I had a feeling you'd find this place, seeing as how your avatar is Sephiroth. Is it just Reno, or do you like all the Turks? Me, I for some reason always kinda liked Tseng, even if you never get to fight him in the game, which sucked. I'd rather face him than wimpy little Elena.

person_ August 29th, 2007 05:22 PM

hehe of course i'd show up eventually

well the turks are cool but Reno sure is a hot set of pixels which is a +20.
He had the most [well...loudest] character out of all the turks too, but yeah I would have liked to see a bit of Tseng action.

I am an avid ff7 fan but admittedly ff8 is my favorite out of all the ffs, but it was a really close call

BMANN1019 August 29th, 2007 05:25 PM

Yh, i have noticed a lot of rivalry between FF7 nad FF8 fans. I own both as a matter of fact, but i kinda just liked the whole gameplay of 7. The whole GF thing just didn't really grab me, although they looked a lot better than 7's Summons. But one thingt i will say is good with both, is the music. Liberi Fatali=Awesome.

person_ August 29th, 2007 05:35 PM

I tended not to use the GFs in ff8 either although I did like the junction system even if it meant you could be invincibly strong without having to level-up, in fact I enjoyed that aspect in all my laziness

And I agree the musical scores are amazing! I haven't gotten a chance to download the music in the link in your sig yet as I'm not using my own laptop but definitely will

BMANN1019 August 29th, 2007 05:39 PM

See, iknew posting those things in my sig was a good idea. But you didn't really use GF's? How the heck to even get past Ifrit then?

person_ August 29th, 2007 05:57 PM

Haha well first time i ever played the game... I think I was around 12 years old and a total n00b, I didn't know you could summon GFs till the boss on the Dollet EM Tower! But even now I don't use them really =/

I don't remember exactly what I do but now when I replay ff8, before I do anything at all, I level up a bit to make sure the rest of the game goes easy. I always fight those sand-fish thingies on the shore and battle enough till the preliminary GFs have learnt the strength junction ability and the elemental attack junction ability, yes it takes ages but it's totally worth it for me xD. Then I just draw lots of magic, junction it,and everything's easy as pie onwards, without GFs being very necessary. It's easy power but I'm just a cheat at heart.

BMANN1019 August 29th, 2007 06:00 PM

LOL, well, that is a good strategy. Me, i never really cared about the elemntal attack junction. What i like was the status effect junction, which i don't think you really get to do until you get Siren. I mean, junction a bunch of Death's into that, and that'll be sick as hell. Now, did i read it wrong, or on the thread where you asked what you should do besides post on the this site you said you were a girl?

person_ August 29th, 2007 06:16 PM

Yeah I loved doing that too! haha i'd always try and get the materia to do that in ff7, i don't remember if i ever managed it or if it's possible though I gotta replay them again. And yeah I'm a girl... well a LADY I'd like to think!

BMANN1019 August 29th, 2007 06:19 PM

Niiiice, a "lady" who likes videogames, sweet. And do what with the materia?

person_ August 29th, 2007 06:24 PM

hahaha that's right sweetie, and i'm not the only one there are other girl's on here too i've noticed which is awesome. and I meant being able to kill anything with one strike on ff7, as you would on ff8 with status-j, i think i recollect that doing that was possible.

BMANN1019 August 29th, 2007 06:33 PM

Yes, in FF7, they're are numerous ways to take out an opponent, with an instant death move anyway. The slash-all materia's second ability was called Flash, wich would cause instant death to all opponents, as long as they weren't immune to it. I developed a rather nasty combo with that. I had that materia with Barret, and i also had the added-effect and contain materias paired into his weapon. When i used flash, it would cause instant death, and confuse/stop/ or petrify any of the monsters that were not killed. It worked like a dream.

person_ August 30th, 2007 04:19 AM

Yeah I remember now =D

I should probably get playing again! It's been too long, I guess I'm just a busy girl now adays...

Mad Cat MkII August 30th, 2007 10:02 AM

psh only thing i needed was
FF7 = quad cut for everyone

FF8 = squall with auto haste, auto protect and auto shell

BMANN1019 August 30th, 2007 11:47 AM

What the hell is quad cut?

person_ August 30th, 2007 11:52 AM

i think he means the 4xCut materia

Anson992 August 30th, 2007 12:02 PM

4X Cut was nice.... and I came up with great materia combos.

Quadra magic + W-Summon equals doing 2 summons 4 times in one turn.
Final Attack = Phoenix Summon = (if you had enough MP) near invicibility.
There are a few other great combos too.... and I can beat the final 3 bosses with ease now.

Roaming East August 30th, 2007 01:40 PM

assuming you had mastered all of them. a pretty devasting setup was Added effect+Gravity, Counter+Deathblow.
The initial hit would drop most non-boss enemies by about 75% health and if your character was hit, he would in turn land a guaranteed deathblow. Made battle square mind numbingly easy. Adding X2 or x4 would pretty much kill outright any non boss fiend in the game. There wasnt a single creature in the Northern crater that took more than one round of attacks for my crew to kill, thats without summons or magic.

If you were REALLY bored, you could add for example counter +enemy skill with the only skill in the orb being Shadow Flare and then stack a shiat load of other counters in the same weapon like in Yuffies conformer. Having shadow flare proc 7 or so times after being hit at no mana cost was pretty damn awesome.

Once you learned the magic system, the game was actually too easy. i think they over powered the materia setup but having tried playing the game like any other final fantasy (limit magic to only certain characters and then only certain types) the game is retardly hard. FF7 is all about mastering the materia combos.

person_ August 30th, 2007 01:45 PM

i could never ever be bothered to master all that materia i never had the patience... anybody wanna make a copy of their saved game onto a new memory card and send it to me? he he he

Anson992 August 30th, 2007 03:50 PM

Lol... I mastered the materia combo's to a certain extent. I need to try that Death Blow combo!

What characters did you limit to what? Because in all realness, though I outfitted them all with Restore materia, only Tifa and Aeris ended up using it.... unless the former or latter weren't in the battle, which really didn't happen too often! I always had the others Like Cloud, Barret, and Red XIII offensive beast. Thats all they did.

The game is totally awesome though, and the materia system is well thought out no?

BMANN1019 August 30th, 2007 05:35 PM

Yh, i actually took the time to master every single one. That way, i could two of the three available master materias. And anakin, do you mean the three WEAPONS or do you mean Jenova-SYNTHESIS, BIZARRO Sephiroth, and SAFER Sephiroth?

And was anybody else able to acquire every single enemy skill? It was tough, but i did it.

person_ August 30th, 2007 05:54 PM

i've actually never defeated the weapons... i never bothered to level up and master the needed materia! i have no patience for that lawl but i think next time i replay it maybe i will, but damn my uni studies are gonna suffer fa sho

BMANN1019 August 30th, 2007 05:56 PM

Well, you do know what master materia is, don't you?

Anson992 August 30th, 2007 08:21 PM

Master Materia was the best! A way to have all available magic in one materia, I loved them. My combo of
Quadra magic + W-Summon equals doing 2 summons 4 times in one turn.
And then having Master Summon equipped on any other slot. KTOR x8!

And I meant the 3 final bosses. Jenova Sythesis, Bizzaro Sepheroth, and Safer Sephiroth. Bizzaro was the easiest with KOTR, but even without it he wasn't tough. 2 KTOR = Death for Bizzaro. Doing that a few times after you De-Barrier Safer Sephiroth was the best way to beat him.

I did manage to defeat Ultima Weapon, and get Clouds Ultima Blade, a badass sword for sure. I even did the battle square so I got his Level 4 Limit. I had a few of each Master Materia, most peoples level 4 limit Break if not all.... I had everything. I just didn't have Enemy Skill with all skills. I didn't feel like wasting a materia in a boss battle so that I could get an enemy skill. My squad was pretty bad enough.

I spent all my time battling, until I got to level 99, took forever. I could never get a Great Chocobo to make any of the great combo's of chocobo, all Class C yellows for me. I did feed one offspring all the best greens in the stable, and managed to race with her undefeated in Class C, Class B, and Class A. I was always first, and by a landslide. Class S got me though, I couldn't win at all, especially from the girls friend on the black chocobo. Bad....

Ya Boi Rajon August 30th, 2007 08:35 PM

This makes me wanna beat the game again.

Mad Cat MkII August 31st, 2007 06:15 AM

master materia was prity bad ass, best prize ever from beating emerald weapon and u were 99 and you couldn't beat bazaro with one kotr? o and if you never got a gold chocobo how on earth did you ever get the kotr materia?

Anson992 August 31st, 2007 10:32 AM

CHEATING! I did it once.....

I could never Breed one, thats the only reason I did it. I tried so hard, but "Great" chocobo's run before I even get a turn to feed them.

As for Bizzaro, it depends, I beat the game a great number of times. It works like this. There are 2 end game scenarios. One has you make one single group of three. Then you all charge for Seph, and only those 3 are left when he does that blue thing. In this Scenario, one KOTR does it.

The other one requires you to make 2 groups of 3, and 1 group of 2. (Only can get this one with Vincent and Yuffie.) On this one, one KOTR will kill most of his body parts. Then they'll ask are you worried about the others. Say no, do one more KOTR and he's toast. If you say yes you can't beat him unless you return to the original Cloud group. But they can help defeat body parts.

Mad Cat MkII August 31st, 2007 04:45 PM

see i never had that problem i always killed the other enemies before he could run with quad cut. a good place for great chocobos if i remember right was the tracks by the gold saucer. in my opinion chocobos was one of the best parts of the game i loved having a gold chocobo with rank s everything in the s class race by that point tio was no challenge for me.

also never use attack all as any attack will make the chocobo run

emerald weapon and ruby weapon were my bitches

Anson992 August 31st, 2007 07:18 PM

LOL, I'm Emerald and Rudy's bitch. :( Lmao
I never attack all. But with great chocobo's always run before its even my turn. Its too hard. And At least I made it to class S with a class C chocobo.

BMANN1019 September 3rd, 2007 04:26 PM

It was that tough for you to do it? that's kinda weird, i would catch wonderful chocobos with ease, and i thikn those were the best. And once again, did anybody else ever get all of the enemy skill attacks?

Ya Boi Rajon September 3rd, 2007 05:39 PM

Nope.

BMANN1019 September 3rd, 2007 05:56 PM

Well, which didn't you get?

Anson992 September 3rd, 2007 07:27 PM

I got none. Like I said, I thought it was a waste to bring into some battles. Like, when I'm not fighting bosses. Then when I get to a boos that might possibly give me a skill I forget to use it.

Maybe I'll download an Enemy Skill guide so that it tells me every enemy that has a skill. I bet I can find one.

BMANN1019 September 3rd, 2007 07:28 PM

Just click on the top url in my sig, and then just clcik on enemy skill on the left. It says every single one and every monster that has it.

Anson992 September 3rd, 2007 07:30 PM

Lol, told you I could find it....

BMANN1019 September 3rd, 2007 07:30 PM

Well, i figured i'd give you a 100% reliable resource in case you wanted it.

Anson992 September 3rd, 2007 07:37 PM

Thats where I found it at.... lmao.....

BMANN1019 September 3rd, 2007 07:44 PM

Small world, isn't it. Hey everyone, i've had a question buzzing through my head. iT has to do with the Advent Children and the whole Reunion business. Now, if i remember correctly, Kadaj and his gang, and Cloud, are all clones of Sephiroth. I believe it was said that Hojo gathered the dead bodies of the people slain at Nibelheim and injected them with MAko and Jenova cells. Now, Kadaj stated that he needed "Mother's" cells in order to become Sephiroth, but here's where i get a little confused: exactly why would he need more cells if he already ahd them inside of himself?
