Are you able to load ANY scenario maps that you download?

If the problem isn't only with my maps, then it's obviously a problem with your install of Sacrifice/your system.

If it were a problem with my maps, then I wish I knew what the problem was, because this problem doesn't seem to be coming up on the 40 or so people who have loaded my map.

Bad news, Jesta: yes.

I'm going to try downloading your files w/Internet Explorer. It may be your method of download that doesn't agree with my computer.

j/k

Jesta... I watched your cutscene "The Brokenhearted Troll" again (only for the twentysixth time) and it looked pretty different

When the troll was killing all the purple bitches... he suddenly got stuck at that big stone and those bithy thingys where just shooting at him... He was helpless... pathetic really...

after a while he gave up and just stood there while the bitches got tired of shooting I guess...

BTW:I AM NOT KIDDING , THIS REALLY HAPPENED !
You should be little more carefull where you put your markers for the road that the creature needs to follow (Don't put no rocks in between ! lol

...anywayz... your cutscene RULEZ !

keep it up !

Also... check your email... It might be my side but I can NOT send you any email (When I do I get my own email back and a message saying... "email not correct"... or whatever .

I was gonna send you my cutscene a week ago !! (The LON Story)

I guess now you'll just have to wait until the end of the month... Then I'll share it with EVRYBODY !

Yes I know exactly what problem you are talking about.

It is a rare bug that occurs in the map and it's due to bad creature path finding.

I was going to spend some time trying to make sure it didn't happen, but after a while I just wanted to get the map out already and noticed that the bug doesn't occur very often, so I figured what the hell..

Also I'm not sure exactly what was causing the problem. Everything I tried to change would cause something else not to work right, so I just decided to leave things the way they were and if you watch the cutscene enough times or just have bad luck, you may very well run into the bug, which I believe occurs due to bad path finding on the character's part, not because of any mistakes I made on the map.

To be more specific, I think the reason why it looks like he is standing still and not doing anything is because of a rare bug where the Sylphs stand and shoot him at a constant rate, and since he keeps on getting shot by the Sylphs, he's unable to move due to the constant rate which they shoot him at. The whole time this is occuring, he's really trying to move up to attack one of the Sylphs. Once when I saw the bug come up, the Troll managed to get out of it after 15 seconds and eventually killed the Trolls.

Ah well. It's a hard bug to reproduce, so if you end up seeing it occur, consider yourself having "bad luck" that day.

Jesta, please check out my own cutscene, located in this thread http://www.veforums.com/Forum11/HTML/004315.html

I actually used your work as an inspiration, and would like to know what you think of it.

I found the problem, Jesta!

RGHS...stupid Netscape. My copy is a little frayed around the edges, so I'm going to download cinematics off this board using IE for now.

Mr_Hoppy: I have seen your scenario; fun.

BTW it reminded me of that "endsequence/credits" when you have finished the campaign

If you load up my map right now in Scapex, you'll see that there's no way to extract those sound clips I used and play them outside of Scapex. I would have definitely been able to use ANY of the god's voices if it were possible to extract sound clips from Scapex (because all of the god's clips are stored on the Scapex maps), but since there is currently no way to do this, I did not have the ability to do so.

Besides...the god voices, creature voices, and sound effects are all the property of Shiny and I'd probably feel the same way as they do about extracting sound clips from the game and using them in your own maps. It's not like they went around downloading clips off the Internet like I did; they paid voice actors to sit there and do all of those voices.

By the way, nice try on the reverse psychology. Trying to **** me off to get a role in future cutscene I see. Haha....you don't think I picked that up after you first post?

Oh and I don't think I thanked anyone yet for their positive feedback.

Well I guess now is a good time to say THANKS and I am glad you all liked it (even though I knew you would).

I am taking a temporary break from Scapex for now, but not for too long. (Hopefully someone else out there will be able to "steal" from my map and make a good one by themselves.)

Oh and thanks for the offers of your voices too. I may hold some of you up to that later on...

By the way, I wanted to thank you guys for having a fight right here on this FEEDBACK thread, because it helps to show people who weren't here earlier what I was talking about at the end of the cutscene.
Jesta,

There IS a way to extract the voices...
IF you have 2 pc's next to eachother...
This is the way I do it...
I connect my 2 pc's with an stereo-audio cable (male-male) and I just play them from one pc and record the sound on the other with Soundforge XP !

Exellent result and rather easy.

Actually when I wrote that I did not know about GoldWave.

GoldWave lets you open sounds.wad and sfx_english.wad and you can take any sound effect or creature voice sound clip in the game.

Also, to take sound clips out of maps (like how all of the gods' sound clips are compressed into the map), all you have to do is export the triggers from that particular map, and then import it into your map, and just get rid of everything you don't want.

You can do this as often as you want.

By the way, I don't have a second PC nor a stereo-audio cable so your method is unfortunately unavailable to me.
