Why does this sound like a really stupid idea? Like paks said, why limit it? If you're tired of playing new/bad players, don't play them. This community is small enough that it's very easy to know the good players.
You complain about playing against bad players? If they're that bad (and you're that good), it should only take a few minutes to desecrate them. If the good players aren't willing to play with the new, less experienced players, how are they going to get better? The best way to get good competition is to teach new players better ways to play. This whole idea seems counter-productive for the reason behind it. If you want better opponents, teach some of these eager new players a few of your tricks.
I for one, will not be showing up to this (but then I wasn't invited, was I?). How about, instead of all the good players getting on at once and playing each other, they get on and show new players better ways to play? That way, the community grows and the level of play increases, which is what everyone wants, isn't it?
I'm gonna say it once again, simply because this idea is very counter-productive to the sacrifice community:

Hey Excilss! I have played against you before a few weeks ago in a 2on2 and you did retty bad. Your clan member the S person --well I dont remember his name-- told me you were having "sme bad days" but I have never played you since then so I dont kniow if you are better or not. ButI dont see how you can be the person who will judge who is elite and who isnt because no offense but last time I was in a game with you you didnt play in a style that I would consider elite. Maybe you have gotten better since then but I dont see why you should be saying who is the elite and who isnt. Very rude of you I think. On that post about best player, I beat one of the guys who was mentioned in an FFA and he had double my souls so does that mean I am the best player? Hell no. I lose and win evenly everyday. I know of at least 10 more people who are great and you dont have them on there. I consider myself pretty good but could be better at times. What I am trying to say is I dont think its right that you can sit here and post who you think is elite and who isnt.

I have beaten Excilus one hundred times, consecutively. (He probably does not remember but that is proof that I have.)

Errr....
First, I am happy to be invited but itīs a bad time for me...
Second, you people here complain about people who want a challenge.
And you say "If you donīt want to play newbies then donīt play them" ... thatīs what this is about... and itīs just an event where the more fanatic players meet.
This could also be turned the other way ( newbie-festivals?)... not that SW would be planning something like this

sorry choopy, they want ppl of the same skill, they don't want to continually get spanked.
maybe in a bit when they have the elite elite matchups you'll get invited.

Ok He just wants to play a few games with the people he knows. Is that so bad?
Think of it as a passworded game, do you moan about that? Perhaps hes wrong about the elite stuff but he's just organising a little match up, don't start looking to far into it. Everyone has the right to make an invitation only game!
P.s Excil cant be expected to know every single decent player out there, he's just listing the ones he knows. Now stop being drama queens

I think its a damned fine idea!! Wanna get invited, build the rep. Nothing wrong with that. It's not like those that are not invited can't find a game in skirmish.
Hey, elites, let us know how it goes. Perhaps keep score. I'd like to know who comes out on top (in no way a reference to the "orgy" theme, hehe).
