well....its not freezing anymore.... when i first got the game i could never complete a single player, multiplayer, or tutorial without the game freezing...i read a lot of the post here and updated every drive i could. after that i uninstalled then reinstalled the game and patch....well it doesnt freeze anymore, but it now dies while loading...doesnt lock....just quits... http://www.veforums.com/frown.gif |
Chances are, this is a compatibility issue. However, if it is a simple resource conflict, you may want to try this: click start, go to run, type msconfig, and hit enter. Click "selective startup". Click on the Startup tab in the upper right hand corner of the window, and uncheck everything in the window except for scanregistry, systray, and load power profile. Click OK and let it reboot. If you still have problems, post your current driver versions. To get these, click start, go to run, and type dxdiag. Once that window pops up, write down your direct X version, and click on the display tab and write down the driver version, approximate total memory, and device name. Finally, click on the sound tab and write down the dvice name and driver version there. Post all that information and we'll work on your problem from there. ------------------ Brock Heinz Interplay Technical Support |
I would but I'm running win2k http://www.veforums.com/wink.gif |
the whole dying thing stopped...im not sure how but it did....i tried starting the second tutorial all over and it started working fine.... |
Very odd. If it crops up again, post your directx info, and we'll try to resolve it. To do this, click start, go to run, and type dxdiag.

Try using the task-manager to remove any backgroung apps before running the game. When exactly does it crash? During battle, in the menus, in multiplayer? ------------------ Brock Heinz Interplay Technical Support |
Sorry fpr my English (Where is a german Bord ??) I have the same Problems. The Game freezes, sometime with a long "Beeeeep". My System: PIII600EB 320MegRAM 300MB SwapSpace AnnihilatorPro with FastTraxx 6.34 Soundblaster Live - LiveWare 3.0 Asus P3V4X with Via 4in1 4.25 I have the German Version and updatet with the Patch, but ist dosnt help. The Game stops and all i can do ist Reset. Greetings |
du kannst ruhig auf deutsch reden... and it locks during the tutorials...mainly right before or directly after someone says something |
Ok, I'll be in monday, and will take another crack at it from there. |
that would be most appreciated. |
and it also happens in the single player game...not just the tutorials |
d00d if someone doesnt respond to this im going to give up on this game...ip-c??? give me some sort of advice or suggestion...if this game doesnt get a working patch or something soon then im going to stop wasting my time and return the game for one that was well coded and tested the first time through... |
Skivvis: What type of motherboard do you have? Does it have a VIA chipset? You might want to try their 4 in 1 drivers. Also, try setting the processor affinity for Sacrifice to "1". I don't think it was tested on dual proc systems, so that could be the problem. ALso, are you running the German or English version of the game? ------------------ Brock Heinz Interplay Technical Support |
thank you for responding....i was getting pretty frustrated... im running the englisch version...the problem with setting the affinity to 1 is that it freezes when i alt-tab to the task manager to do so. i think i have an asus board right now...i keep changing and so i never really can remember |
This sounds alot like the problem I've got... Win2k, Asus V6800 GeForce, Asus P3B-F Mainboard, 256megs Ram, P3-800, German Version of Sacrifice with patch 1... As soon as the Game starts it runs for max. 1 Minute and then simply locks up... Strangely the Demo worked fine on my Computer http://www.veforums.com/frown.gif |
exactly...it always happens a couple minutes into the game... |
If the demo worked fine and the game does not then I would have to assume that the problem is Virtual Memory. Please refer to this section ... make sure you have at least 200MB free. http://www.sacrifice.net/troubleshoo...neral_Problems Doctor X Producer Shiny Entertainment |
Can't be a problem with my virtual memory... Got a 512megs pagefile an some gigs free on the drive where sacrifice is installed... See http://www.veforums.com/Forum25/HTML/000559.html for details... |
yeah...its not vm |
so you have any more guesses??? im running out of ideas... |
um...hello? |
