Civ4:Warlords
 

Has anyone played the new expansion yet? I wrote a review on it, and I'm looking forward to installing it, but it's sold out at all the game shops in town. Anyone have positive/negative feedback about the game?

Alright- I still haven't played it yet, but I did some researching and found some feedback for the game. Gamespot gave Warlords a rating of 8.6 out of 10, which is great! Users polled gave the game an average rating of 9.3, and Yahoo! gave the game a rating of 4.5 out of 5, also great! You can read some of the latest news on Civ4: Warlords here.

I was a bit disillusioned by the many bugs of the normal Civ4, so I didn't look into the expansion yet, I'll read up on the features now.

Well, I bought the expansion to CivIII, and I really wasn't very impressed... I don't know if I want to risk it with this one, either.

But those reviews seem good...

I really need to get Civ4, the expansion looks good just due to the fact that it has Carthage in it, quite frankly, Carthage is the coolest empire ever to be on the face of the earth.

If you didn't buy Civ4 yet it's a good idea to buy the game with the expansion as a set.

If you have Civ4 already I'd save the money, the changes are nice but not that great, you can get almost the same with mods.

I dunno- It's only $29.99 here, and I owe it to myself, as a reporter, to try it out for myself. That way, my reviews and such will be more informed. But you say don't buy it? I will consider what you have said.

I think everything you get with the addon you can get for free with mods except for the great-commader-thing. Not really worth $30 if you ask me.

But I guess if you want to review you have to play it first.

The Total Realism Mods give you a great general, which supposedly is like the Great Commander, and you can donload it for free.

I think the game is the best thing since sliced bread LOL.

Worth every cent Buy ASAP. A Must have for die-hard CIV fans. :)

What does the Expansion do? And do you know that Civ4 won't work with Vista?

The expansion gives you eight very nice scenarios to play in, with some added civilizations. And yes, I am aware that, like many other software and hardware products, Civ4 will not work wit Vista. At least, not yet...

I'm a little late to the party, got Civ IV: Warlords today but I thought I would post.


I like the new civs/leaders (Comrade Stalin especially) and a few of the mods, namly Chinese Unification and the Vikings but other than that it's the same game...nothing all that new or interesting but I'm still glad I got it.

People, for some reason, expect an expansion pack to be a completely different game. Let us not forget: Civilization IV is already a great game- the Warlords expansion merely adds to that greatness. I like how they made religion a much bigger factor in Warlords, as most major conflicts in history were centered around religion. I personally thinks the expansion is nice.

I think in comparison Conquests for Civ III was a better expansion though.
