Freedom of Expression

Hey Shiny, how about a little freedom of expression? Just because we mention something doesn't mean we condone it. I do not agree with people who "find" cracked games or software because I understand it syphons money from future software development. But to censor me when all I do is take note of how you are apparently not helping anyone on the message boards anymore, but you sure do notice when someone mentions something like a cracked game, is absurd. I've seen people cuss up a storm on these boards that would make a sailor blush. I seen posts where people threaten the lives of other people in very gruesomen ways. And even though someone says such things and committing that sort of an act is hienously illegal, I've not seen you censor one of those posts. I'm sure I'll be censored again, and no one will even see this message but you, but give us a bit of a break. Many of us have bought your game and have been quite unsatisfied at the buggy nature of the product. If the demo doesn't express to the purchaser how flawed the game is then I don't know what to say. Don't buy it? I like the game, despite it's bugs. I bought the game. I helped you guys out. And censorship is what I get in return, as well as a buggy game, with a patch that did nothing to help (if anything complicated) the matter.

Basically I just want to know one thing: are you going to be responding to help on this message board anymore or not? Please just give me a yes or no to that question, because I've seen a lot of post asking the same basic question: where's Shiny? Why aren't they helping anymore?

Thanks for your time.

I fully agree with all that Hecubus says, listen to the man, it makes sense, just donīt censor him, how would that help? Why not bring the subject of cracked games to a discussion instead of sweeping it under the table and hope it will go away, talk to people god damnit!
By doing this, by censoring you only make people angry and upset, to me the subject thats being censored is irrelevant. The main thing is: Listen to what people have to say, try to learn from it instead of ignoring it. If you built up thrust in people they wouldnīt cheat on you by "stealing" your software, that would be like stealing from a friend.

I think that this is something that everybody should join up in and speak up what they think about it instead of ignoring it and then you censor it away.

I'm not going to take sides in this, it's not that I don't have an opinion but that everyone involved is right. Hecubus, if Shiny were to talk openly about the warezing and all that as far as, saying "yeah!! you guys are right screw the patch!! go get the program that allows others to steal our game!!" now without them even having to wonder whether you bought the game or not, it has been brought to their attention on THEIR OWN message board.. that would be like having a message board on the war on drugs, yet allowing people to make dealer contacts on that board..
now for my agreement with Hecubus, (sorry bout the length) Definitely if Shiny had let this post go there would be the occasional person who actually said why they were warezing it not to mention that there *could* even be developed an official no-cd that authorizes in some other way (is that possible? I have no idea) either way letting people have a number of ways to combat a number of problems or a number of ways to play the game easier is not bad business, and the reason I'm not gonna take sides?

***IT'S NOT MY COMPANY***
if I owned Shiny or if you did, yeah, things would be different, but we don't it's their way of doing business, if i was a software developer I too would probably hate the "warez" scene and might not even want to talk about it. These are just opinons, I didn't mean to offend anyone, so I hope no offense was taken.

Of course if I runned Shiny(or any other company for that matter) I would hate to see people leech of my games because that means less money in the pocket for me as a developer and less money to the company with equals less money to the development team.

Why not talk the people to their right minds instead of just hope that if you look the other way itīs gone the next time you look. I know this isnīt the most effective approach but I really would like to see some kind of debatte around the matter of piracy instead of the usual "do you know that the money earned from copyin movies and software goes to organized crime and acts of terrorism".

I oppose to that. I mean, someone have to do it.
