Messiah save games is broke!!!!
 

This is not good. I just spent 50 dollars on this game and it crashes when I save a game.

I have the latest drivers and installed the patch.

When I go into \shiny\messiah\save there is a 0 byte tga file that is causing it. After I delet it and the other sav file connected with it it still crashes.

Anybody else having this problem? Is there a fix?

I have checked out the Trouble shooting section and have done what it said to no avail.

This is the explanation

Save game problems due to no more hard disk space

If your hard disk runs out of space when saving a game.

Having 0 length files appear in the save menu will disable the save menu. This will be addressed in the patch for the game.

What I would like to know is how am I running out of hard drive space when my drive has over 3gigs free on it.

Also the game is not even installed on C:\ were my swap file is located.

And then they say this!!

Hell I remember when Unreal came out it was the bug king but look at it now! I guess the crown was passed on to shiny!!

the fact that its not on c: could be your problem. how much space is on the drive you have it on(is that the 3 gigs or is it 3 gigs total?). you should try putting it on c: and se what happens(save your save game fiel first) also- i didnt mean to offend(the tone was supposed to be sarcastic-i am a bastard http://forums.voodooextreme.com/wink.gif)

actually the save game crash has nothing to do wether you are out of disc space or if the game is on drive C:

the reason i know is because i have messiah installed on my regular version of windows 98 se and the game crashes when you try and save ... and i have another windows 98 se that is a fresh install and the only thing installed on it is my "LATEST AND GREATEST" refernce drivers and messiah still locks up when trying to save ... both on the same machine and all my hardware is A OK disks defragged and plenty of drive space ....

i think it may have something to do with trying to save a game after you loaded from a save game file for the first time... or its the first run of the messiah engine for that windows session ... or maybe its caused by saving by open doors that lead to thext map ... im looking in to it so maybe ill have an answer

and oh yeah this is occouring on the non patched and patched version of messiah ...

Are you using the 3dfx version of the game?

I was using 2 V2s when I was having the problem. I started using my tnt2 and now I don't have the problem anymore.
