Plain out Half Life 1/2, or Episode One are some of the most fun FPS experiences I've had, although I played that Prey demo and that game is pretty fun and weird too, give it a D/L.
-Halo (PC version has new content not in the Xbox version, new maps, and free online multiplayer)
-Medal of Honor Allied Assault + expansion packs (Relatively old game, but fun nonetheless. One of the greatest WWII-era games ever. Campaign kept me occupied for days, and online multiplayer is some of the greatest ever)
-Call of Duty (Much the same reasons as MoH, fun, addictive WWII gameplay in both campaign and multiplayer modes)
-Call of Duty 2 (Same as its predecessor, but shinier. One of my favorites)
-Half-Life 2 (Incredibly deep storyline, this one will keep you hooked till you beat it, and then some)
-Counter Strike: Source (Arguably the best, and easily the most popular, online multiplayer game ever. One of my favorites)
I would mention Battlefield 2, but from your sig it's clear that you already enjoy it.

MY suggestions would be Call of Duty:United Offensive, which is the expansion pack for CoD1. I don't like CoD1 without UO and I don't much like CoD2. I would also suggest for the PC Red Orchestra Ost Front and the Forgotten Hope mod for BF1942. Medal of Honor for the PC is also a great classic and you can pick it up cheap now(you can get CoD and BF1942 pretty cheap now as well)
For console go with Golden Eye and Perfect Dark. Turok is also a great FPS, nothing beats shooting explosive arrows or Cerebral Bores.
The only somewhat recent FPS game I've really enjoyed playing MP with my friends with is Red Faction, the first one. It is the only game I've played with almost fully destructable environments. Blowing a hole from one side of the map to the other to create a new path or blowing holes to makes fortresses was always fun.
I, too, am a First Person Shooter fan. Ones I enjoy:
Halo 1 & 2
Doom 1, 2 (those two are classics), Doom 3 (newer one)
Wolfenstein 3D (classic), and ESPECIALLY Return To Castle Wolfenstein, though the community population is dwindling. Then again, the game has been out for several years now, and there is a RTCW 2 on the way.
Half-Life 1 and 2
Battlefield 2 (fantastic multiplayer)
Perfect Dark (N64), and Perfect Dark Zero (Xbox 360)
Condemned: Criminal Origins (creepy, atmospheric First Person beat-em-up)
Thief: The Dark Project, Thief: The Metal Age (both are classics)
Unreal Tournament series (also great multiplayer)
Goldeneye (N64)
Kind of a long list, and I'm probably missing a bunch... but, oh well.
Half Life 1 & 2 - both have great storylines FarCry - great graphics and gameplay. Unreal Tournament series - run around shooting and blowing the crap out of things, what more do you need?? Call of Duty - good WW2 game, multiplayer is pretty good as well
Those 4 games will keep you busy and happy for a long time.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Serious Sam 1&2 yet. They're fun because you rarely ever stop shooting
My dad got that with his graphics card ages ago. I've played it a few times and I always remember it having really good graphics compared to other games back then.
