Heroes V impressions?

So Ubi has released a new demo, and I was wondering what you guys thought of it. Heroes Of Might And Magic was a really huge part of my childhood, and I'm cautiously excited about it. How do you feel about it? Is the new demo a huge improvement on the first demo? What do/don't you like about it, etc? Crush my dreams or make me feel justified in loving HoMM, please.

Alot of the gameplay felt like i was playing one of the first games, which is good. The pre battle troop placement is also a plus, since ive heard it will be very important where you troops are placed when entering a battle.

I also like the hero leveling system. I didnt feel confused when it first popped up, and every option has a detailed explanation of what it will do, giving me an idea of how i wanted to progress.

The battles themself are fun IMO. My first run through i came to a enemys castle and captured it, the fight against the defense was great, and watching the walls crumble was satisfying.

If the demo is anything like the retail game is going to be, im fairly confident that Heroes V wont be the let down the last few were.

HoMM2 was the definite high point of the series; I think it took a nosedive after HoMM3. Don't have high hopes for the series any longer, since NWC was basically eviscerated years ago. You could tell that the same happened following MM6.

Just the same, Neiken's post has me intrigued... I might need to check it out and report back.

it looks quite nice and interesting though i wouldnt rush to EB games to buy it. i'd wait for the reviews.
i havent played any previous heroes but this does look good.
