Here is my review of the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the Xbox 360! Hey guys. I got TES4 monday. But my internet broke down so I couldnt get on here and review it. But now I am so here we go First of all the review Graphics - 10/10 - The graphics are amazing. The best I have ever seen. That's all I can really say, the graphics are just that damn good. BUT, the textures in distant areas are rendered like crap, so you only see really nice graphics when your up close to stuff. HDR is not that great of a effect though. It's way too bright. I don't really care for it. But everything else is great. Gameplay - 10/10 - The gameplay is awesome. You'll have a lot of fun playing the game. All the guilds are great, especially the Arena The game has a lot of replay value. The Havok physics add so much to the game. Without that game wouldn't even be what it is.Controls - 8/10 - The controls for the Xbox 360 kind of suck, but you get used to it. The sneak button is the one you use to move, so I end up smashing the button down and accidentally going into sneak mode in battles. Story - 9/10 - The story is good. BUT, the game throws you into Oblivion too fast. The first quest for the MQ you get tossed into Oblivion. But other then that the story is good. The three main evil characters are Mehrunes Dagon, he is the Daedra Prince of Destruction, then there's The Dark Priest who is leader of the Mythic Dawn, which is a Daedric cult and a big part of the MQ. Last there's Dremora Kynval, who is the leader of the Daedric army. Sound - 10/10 - The sound is great too! When your walking through the forests you hear the nature around you. When your in a cave you hear the sounds of rats and goblins. The sound of swords hitting rocks and flesh is good too Well so thats my review. So the overall score is OVERALL - 9/10 Now, I have a lot more to say about the game. The blocking adds a whole new level, without it the game would be a lot harder than it is. Although if your enemy does a power attack blovking doesnt work because so muh for is behind the blow that it knocks your shield right into your face. Now one issue I have is the rating. I have no clue in hell how it got a Teen. The game has some of the nastiest imagery I have ever seen. In Oblivion you'll see hanging naked bodies. BUT, the genital areas are cut off and you see big holes there, but their butts are clearly visible. Also the pools of blood you see enemies laying in. The game is just about as gory as Doom 3. You see rotting corpses and burning ones. It's sick. There are a few swear words here and there. Mostly the NPC's like to say ass and damn. I like when your fighting the guys from Mythic dawn, instead of blood, Lava comes out of their bodies So the game should really be rated M. I have no clue how ESRB stamped a Teen on it.The Arena guild is amazing. I love it! Right now I'm at the rank of Gladiator and have to fight three Argonion slaves that are hard as hell to kill. I cant beat them so I'm waiting to level up. Now for the big one, the RADIANT AI. Honestly, the AI is not smart at all. The characters when they attack each other rush at each other and just start swinging. But, it's cool to actually see NPC's interact with each other, although sometimes they have the dumbest conversations in the world. The shopkeepers always gain money from sales. NPC's regularly walk in and out of shops to buy things, although I have only seen one steal something. I like to always go into the Taverns and see the NPC's getting drunk. Now the graphics, when I first got this game I was like wow. I was blown away by the graphics. They are really good but the game does shitty at rendering graphics that arent in your vicinity. Now the character models bugs me too! Now dont rip on me for this but the character models are like barbie dolls. The arms and head are attached like they are on barbie dolls. They're like seperate pieces. Theres that line by them. It's so annoying. Bethesda you guys could have done better with that! Well thats about it. If you have any questions just ask me in the thread and I will happily answer ![]() But other than those few problems at the end I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS GAME!

No Beef. But, if you look at the game in the videos it is also like that. The graphics in your vicinity are amazing but far away they are textureless. You don't see grass or anything, just trees. But don't let the discouragew you from getting the game, it is a AWESOME GAME!

| I am going for the comp version, I have seen some videos about it and the graphics look phenomenal. Apparently they have made the controls a lot easier. Is the gameplay the same in morrowind? Because I liked the way you could kill somebody and take their house!

Yep! But, in this game you can buy a house. There is a house for sale in every major city. You have to go to the Census Office first and get the contract. A house in the Imperial City if I remember correctly was $2000. Not bad. Yes, you can still take their stuff. But for some characters this feature is limited. On some characters you cant take everything. Like in the beginning of the game. If a Blades member dies you cannot take their armor. Also you cannot take Daedric armor from Dremora's. But most characters you kill you can take their armor. Then for some factions like Fighter's Guild you get free armor and weapons as for some of the guilds have armory's. In one there is a Elven Cuirass, very nice

I used to love the old rpgs - Dungeon Master, Bards Tale etc. I haven't really played a PC rpg for ages though. Except for KOTOR, which was quite cool. I hear Elder Scrolls mentioned a lot these days, is this the current dogs danglies of RPGs?
