Having the best score on a server and then losing your connection and getting kicked because of your ping.

What the Hell does "Ping" mean? In all my years of online gameplay, I've never found out what a "Ping" was.

Losing my 65-character level Shadow Knight in EQ. I've long given up that game though. It still makes me said.

I'm not sure, but I belive it relates to how long it takes for data from your comp to the server (or vise versa).

Well I always thought to believe it how fast you got the data response. As thus if you have internet problems and can not figure out if you have a connection you PING yahoo.com and see if you get response.

here is a little basic "ping"primer:
ping is also known as latency. how long it takes for a data packet to arrive and for the server to be acknowledged. example; you get shot in game, your computer sends acknowledgement that you where shot to server, server acknowledges and sends packet back so you die and whoever shot you gets a point. the higher the number the more time it takes for a server to acknowledge a response and so you can have high ping events like "lag kills" where you are walking around but you where shot and killed a couple of seconds earlier. someone with high ping not only slows themselves down but slows down everyone else because the server has to allow time for all clients to be sychronised. that is why most servers kick for pings over 200 or 300

Worst experience: overwriting a lot of save games accidentally. I've saved over GTA3 saves, Champions of Norrath saves, and a couple others which I put a lot of work into.

Well Tomb Raider, Angel of Darkness was pretty bad

As for actual bad experiences, I think it must be in GTA VC when I found 50 hidden packages in a row, and I went to save. My comp decided to crash when I went into the Mansion.

Mine was when I brought a good game when I was a little younger. When I went to play it I nearly got to the end of the game and then the game suddenly didn't work.

I then didn't bother buying a new game as I had nearly finished it so I thought that there would have been now point.

Also, I couldn't really send it back as it tooks me weeks to get to that stage.

I'd say accedentally resetting my PS2 while saving on GT4, goodby months of work
