Serious lag issues

Hi there, I am trying to play B&W2 on a nvidia 6600gt graphics card, 128 mb, 1 gb ram, AMD ATHLON 3400. For some reason I get massive amounts of lag while playing, even on low settings, can someone help me? I have ran aquamark and everything seems fine, so what could be the problem?

Thats part of the problem.. I "upgraded" from a 9800 pro to a 6600gt. The sales person said it would be about a 50% improvment in preformance.

does it work well in 9800?...why do you change to geforce then? what kind of ram memory you have? SDRAM or DDRAM?...i used 9600 series with 1 gig ram memory, i feel no lagging...1 more thing i always find black and white 2 always have problems with nvidia cards....

I upgraded to the 6600 because I was told by the guy who sold it to me that it was a better card. I have 1 gb ram, and on the computer with the 9800 I have 512mb. How do I tell what type of RAM I have? With the 9800 I still had to play games like BF2 on low.

6600 is a bit better card than 9800, "the bit better" part is on the effect that 6600 can make ....9800 have more stabillity, specially on black on white 2 since the game were design for ATI ...but what i think going on is your comp were actually using SDRAM and not DDRAM, SDRAM is only have half the capabillity of DDRAM... which mean if you have 1 GB SDRAM, you only have the abillity of 512 MB DDRAM...how you see what kind you have for ram is from the BIOS... i dont know what kind of BIOS you have in your comp, but most BIOS can be see by pressing del at the beginning of a startup, you can look it up in the configuration setting.......

here an idea, why dont you use the 9800 in the comp that have 1 GB memmory and try it....

I cant really try it, since I dont actually own the computer, it is my parents, and they dont let me modify it on my own, but I will try and get someone in to have a look for me. Thankyou for your help.
