Destroy 10+ ranged guardian... HOW?

I've come to a SP mission where there's a manalith close to the enemy's alta. The manalith has almost 10+ ranged guardian attached to it. I probably have 30+ units at my disposal, but I wanna kill them with beauty =)

Any suggestions? I tried to rush 15 melees and they didn't even get close to them before getting all killed http://www.veforums.com/tongue.gif

or cloudkill... I've had good luck with it against low level guardians.

Bovine Intervention/Soul Mole, or maybe Charm with Ethereal Form can be used to pick them off.
6+ artillery units can do it too, as long as the enemies are short ranged. If they have only 1 or 2 long range units, you could get those first while Healing your units.

I'm curious about this one too. My first attempt through SP I got to this mission and I was stumped -- I had to start from a couple missions back and have since finished the game. Anyway, when I played it my only melee creature (to kill ranged -- there are 10 Mutants -- actually the Charnel version of Mutants I think) was Trogg, and they got slaughtered. I got stuck because I went James->Persephanie->James->Stratos->James, I think -- it happened that I didn't get Stratos' giants and didn't get James' Trolloc (I think), so couldn't win. Anyone else get this (sorry about the mistakes, I'm at work now and can't remember the actual names of the baddies).

Bombard for 20 seconds. Then run in with chain lightening, and your ranged guys backing you up. Works taking out 8 warmongers with ease.

I use plague then when they are badly damage 3 squads of 5 scythes each from 3 directions. Works wonderfully, except on the last mission where using low level units is like committing suicide.

From the Persephone point of view, an Ent's shield special ability should let it allow a group to rush pretty much anything - especially when combined with rainbow.

One thing to take note of - creatures guardianed lose their special abilities, so invaders should take advantage of special abilities. For Pyros, that means use firewalk, for Persephone, that means use shields, for Stratos, that means distract, disable, and destroy, and so on. Whatever works.

If you have Boulderdashes, you could try those. Or use Flummoxes to constantly knock them over. Don't forget to use Erupt/Rainbow (whichever you have) if you melee rush, you will get closer before your guys die.

Have you guys COMPLETELY forgotten about the fact that all guardianed units take double/triple damage when the manalith they are guardianed too is attacked? Send in a bunch of melee units (as many as possible)and POUND AWAY at that manalith and you will watch those guardians pop faster than water balloon. Or if the ranged units are standing on the other side of where you are attacking from, you could try to use your own ranged units to constantly attack the manalith from a safe distance. Of course, artillery units would be even more practical in this case.
