Got my copy today, yay. Has anyone else bought this great game?
First impressions, as I havnt had a real chance to play it because of work, are that it really is quite complex and large, and the modabilty of the game will easily be quite extensive.
I got x2: The Threat with my 6800GT only 3 weeks ago and I thought it's pretty awesome, but by what I've heard of this on other forums the graphics are like HalfLife1 in comparison.
Have you played either of it's predecessors? IMO x2 is quite complex, but that I think is just because I'm noob, FPS style too much.
Some annoyances I've found though are:
- The specs are quite high, basically the same as fear, here are the recommended specs, note they aint the minimum specs.
1gb ram
P4 2.4
256mb DirectX 9 compat with Pixel Shader 2 support
- Lowest res you can go to is 1024 x 768
- Most of the important options can only be changed while in game.
- The way you view/change the monitors may take a while to get used to.
- Game really benefits from using a joystick.

some users double post because they still have flashbacks to Nam and for some reason this makes them jittery and press 'post' 2 times!
Anyhow why would you wanna run a PC game lower then 1024x768, may as well go get a console!
And if you say, "because some people have crap vid cards" I really dont wanna hear it, DONT BY THE GAME IF YOU CANT PLAY IT ON COMFORTABLE SETTINGS!!!
| The skulls... the bodies... you give it all such a glow! I don't know if it's art, but I like it! |
Im just taking one for the X3 fans team by hearing your complaints, I can tell you not to do it and save more gullible people from being sucked in to think X# is a bad game because some noob *looks up* thinks its a flaw of the game to have high requirements!
