Sam and MAx 2

Sent to LUCAS ARTS :0wned:

If you start something you're supposed to finish it, Lucas arts has lost lots of respect by this world...maybe you should do a google search to see what THE WHOLE WORLD MAJORITY OF GAMERS thinks!! Such a talented company you have, with all the brillant mindless killing games out, I can hardly even see logos anymore.I can see parents wanting to buy educational thinking games for their children, I know my mother did, but hay those boring boring everyday action games put money on your plates. Alot of adults don't play video games anymore, I can't say that I don't blame them after all who wants to play a childrens mentality run of the halls killing game? All games are the same now a days, and well even children find better things to do , then to play the latest Doom clone.Your company is nothing big now. Games that you made over 10 years ago, like fate of atlantis and Last Crusade, are to this day spoken of with great pride, and 100's of web pages are dedicated to them. Those older games are what your company is known for and remembered by, they made your gaming industry...now all you can do is make jedi knight 10 and KOTOR 6....so so original are you, to keep stealing your older work and to maker newer look alikes. YOur problem is that your company used to be original, now, not only do all of your games such as jedi knight 3 resemble dark forces and jedi knight one, but they resemble every other game on the market. That's progress for you...you used to be original , you used to have something. Now it's all about who can make the best 1st person shooter...

You dont have to make a 1st person shooter , to make a good game!
YOu have to make a game that people will buy and want!
Everyone and their brother wants Sam and Max 2.,if your company is worth a damn Id still want it when Id play it, and Id want more games from Lucas Arts.. Honestly I buy whatever is on the self at random as of now, but if something were to be different and fun and stick out, believe me it would be eaten off the selves like mad. PEople would buy this new and brillantly different game, made by Lucas Arts and your company would make a few bucks, and it would be talked about in the magazines and widely on the web.

People buy games to play them, and to get something out of them, you can give them something better, something different that every other game on the self can't give..why give them what they already have had for over 10 years now?
Do you realy think that this one game isn't worth a try, you're Lucas arts I thought that your company knew what the hell it was doing..Can't you make a game that stands out anymore!?

It's cancelled now and there's nothing we can do I'm afraid, no letter or petition will change there mind. The best you can hope for is for them to sell the licence.

It's a damn shame. I loved Sam'N'Max: Freelance Police. In fact, I played it again with emulators a while back.

zl1corvette, a few points you should watch for:

-when trying to reason with someone, don't insult them. It degrades the strength of your bargaining point.
-don't contradict yourself...you said lucasarts doesn't bring out any good games anymore, that you're bored with their games, etc., yet you then say that you buy games off the shelf indiscriminately. So why should they change if you're going to buy it anyway?

I agree with what you're saying, most games churned out recently are more or less the same. The problem is that that is what's in demand right now. If you bring out a game like Sam'n'Max 2, you miss the target audience. Only the hardcore gamers who played the original would instantly buy it, and a slow trickle of new players. Plus, in this RPG/Ego-shoter dominated market, a fringe product such as this quirky adventure would go under.

People ought to besiege the LucasArts offices until they have finished the game.
