CHEATS FOR SACRIFICE Ok this is very important and I hope the guys at Shiny agree with me. Please DO NOT add cheats or a cheat mode to the game. For 2 simple reasons: 1) It would make the game less appealing, once we find the cheat the temptation is so great to use it when you just cant beat a level or stage that you end up finishing the game with a cheat. 2) I used to be a big NetMech fan (Mechwarrior) but ever since people found the code to the game they used it online and thats what got me to stop playing Multiplayer games. PS: Dont think that you can add them and people wont find out, I know 3 people that found impossible codes to Mechwarrior after the game designers swore that there were none and I already hear of people talking about finding secret codes when Sacrifice comes out. Cheats will only make the game less appealing and as the name itself says , its just cheating. KronologiK |
I AGREE WITH YOU COMPLETELY, the temptation is too great! I recently have been playing the game Deus Ex, when I found out that it had had cheats I used them, now the game seems less appealing, there is no more challenge! Please, Shiny, if you do put cheats on the game, please do not release them for at least a year! Then, we will have finished the game several times http://forums.voodooextreme.com/smile.gif and then when we find the cheats, we can use them because we have finished it already. The cheats would be for fun! http://forums.voodooextreme.com/smile.gif ------------------ I will ~*Sacrifice*~ my soul, will you???? |
I don't think cheats can be put into RTS. I know that there were some of TA but I never wanted to find them and they were locked out in multiplayer. I expect some RTS have them but I cant see how anything but a "go to next level" cheat would help. Anyway it isn't internat cheats you have to watch out for as they are disabled during multiplayer, its the hack-cheats. These a executables you run before the game itself which find the area of memory where the game stores things like credits/souls/mana and upps them or it finds the unit healths and stops them decreasing for your side (I looked at some for TS and as long as you have the version of the game they were written for they work a dream). I don't think shiny can do anything to stop the use of these cheat programs and some might be written for multiplayer. I sacrifice is popular enough they will be written and like CS it will require a patch to stop them working and no one likes downloading patches all the time. ------------------ -Shivoa http://www.sacrifice.org.uk/ http://www.smgskins.org.uk/ http://www.TRt.org.uk/ |
Cheats is such a bad word in the gaming world. Some cheats can actually give you a "Designer's View" of a game. The Ghost cheat for UT, for example. You actually see the complexity and hard work it takes for game designing. Also, it's also great to use them for strategy purposes. To know every inch of a map. And, it's great if you're bored. Yeah, thats what I ususally do, if I get to a part in the game that I spend maybe a day working on it and still cant pass it, I get so tempted to use cheats that sometimes I cant resist and once I finish the game I get a feeling of disapointment, unlike the feeling of pride you get once you finish a game on your own. I would like to be proud of finishing Sacrifice on my own without the use of cheats. Another thing is that it would ruin the Multiplayer game if there were cheats in it. KronologiK |
