Does not work on Dell. WHY DID YOU DELETE MY POST!!!!!
Bart Lane

For the second time posting, first was deleted, why?

It will not run on my Dell Inspiron 7500 notebook. Of course there is no sound in the intro (Maestro card) no matter what I try. And as soon as the game starts it throws me to the desk top. I have a ATI Rage Mobility 8 meg card in the machine and have tried every tip you posted here. Nothing. Any help?

Also, why do you force me to watch the advertisment for another game every time I load the game? No buttons I press shut it off and it adds way more frustration and time to an already frustrating and time consuming game to get working. What is the motivation behind forcing me to watch this ad over and over and over again with no way to by-pass it? Just curious.

Thanks, wish I could comment on the game but I have not seen it.

Hi Bart Lane,

We do not deliberately delete any posts, just so you know.

Mastro sound has has following note in the troubleshooting section:

=====================
Some users have experienced problems with the Maestro sound card. If you have problems running Messiah and you have a Maestro sound card, go into the sound settings in Messiah's options menu and enable A3D sound.
=====================

For the Rage Cards Torgeir Hagland, Messiah Programmer, reported that a problem was located and it will be solved with the patch coming out shortly.

I assume you already have updated to the very latest drivers and have DirectX7.0a installed as required.

If you look under http://www.messiah.com/f-troubleshooting.htm you will see that adding -i to the command line will bypass the intro.

You are welcome to email messiahfeedback@shiny.com for personal help from a Messiah programmer.

They did not delete your post. It is on the next page. There have been so many threads started that it got pushed back a page. Just click on the numbers at the bottom of the page and you will find it. I just did a search for "Bart" and found it in about 20 seconds.

In short, calm down.

Wonder where mine went? Posted basically the same thing last night. Oh well.

When I select the A3D box I lose all sound entirely. Nothing at all comes out of the speakers. The background menu music instantly stops until I uncheck it. I don't really care about the intro sound that much as long as I can hear the game.

Any idea on the patch release? I am stuck in the most boring place on the planet in a hotel in the middle of the woods with no bars and no TV. I am on the internet with my cell phone. I brought this game so I would have something to do so you can imagine my frustration at it not running. I have actually started to whittle, sigh.

I hate the fact that I can't play this game but I appreciate that you are handling it well. But, please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, bring on that patch!!!!! My e-mail is bartlane@earthlink.net

Thank you.

Check this link out, Bart... I hope this helps. Although, it doesn't state what drivers this video card is for.

Yup, tried those. The beta driver filed in early Feb. is a very bad driver. I can't believe Dell still has it up. Very few games work with it. A driver from ATI that they posted in the troubleshooting section is actually better, even though it was not designed for my notebook specifically. I am keeping this driver for sure. It allowed South Park Rally to run when no other would. (The only other game I brought with me which gets boring pretty quickly.)

If you want to take a risk, try some of these ones:
