Guild Wars: Your character

So, what is you character build, why you chose it and how do you like it?

I start off with my favorite character, a Necromancer/Monk20.
Why? Well I saw a necro once calling a Bone Minion and I thought "hey I want that too!". So I tried it and used Blood Magic first, then I changed it to Death Magic for those awesome Bone Fiends (I captured it from a boss)
And I just chose Monk to heal myself and other party members.

This character works great. Now yours...

First - W/N20.

Warriors, the ulitmate hacking machines, dealing the quickest damage in the game. I use an axe, for variation and awesome damage.
Blood Necromancer - once again, damage dealing. And also, I use spells like Shadow Strike, Vamapric Touch and Life Transfer (best skill in game), which draw health from an enemy and give it to myself.

Ultimate damage dealing, with healing capabilites.

Wall Hax - Mo/E lvl 20

Mainly a protector with earth wards, and a few healing spells, just in case.

Suffice to say I'm helpless, and my teammates are without me. :lookaround:

R/Me

I like rangers the best, they just fit me. I had a R/E, but I wanted to try something new.
I like the mesmer spells a lot, and always hated getting Phantasmed by the Gragoyles, so I figured I'd get them back.

Mike Leisler - E/W18
Elementalists (fire ones specifically) do a ton of damage to areas, and warrior was due to an accidental click on "Yes, I want warrior as my second profession." I used to use hammers for him, but after I noticed that I died a lot, I abandoned the warrior profession and rely on pure elementalist skills (for now, anyway).

Bigdaddy Pwnage, Necro/Ranger lvl 8 (I just got the game 3 days ago http://forums.filefront.com/images/s.../yeltongue.gif )
I like the combination of the Blood Magic and the Death Magic, I send my minions to do the job head to head and I stay behind Pwning the enemies with the bow and some fire arrows, plus the pet takes a bite out of them as well.:smokin:

I really think you should use other skills, you now have a lot of Attribute points to spend to make your attacks better
What you are using there are Blood, Curses, Death Magic, Wilderness Survival, Markmanship & Beast Mastery (For the skills)...

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

Viscountess Oxtora - 20 E/Mo I specialize in Air Magic and currently have 82 energy. I'm a warrior's bane when it comes to damage, dealing massive damage, all my offensive spells have 25% armor pentration also. Not to mention as a monk I have healing breeze giving me +5 health regen if necessary and I can rez while we're doing mishes and stuff. For pvp it's out with rez and in comes blinding flash, 10 seconds of being blind will piss any warrior off and keep me alive long enough to deal good damage to him.

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

Rinkxing Dinx, R/Mo, I think they're the best combination, because you have a wide range of great attacks and you also get a pet, with Ranger, and Monk is for healing.

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

i've seen the W/Mo deal ALOT of damage... I believe with a hammer, and being a monk its sure is worth to fight the deamons of close..

Well I take it he meant Ranger but ... a ranger with a hammer and second profession as monk ... I'm lost.

That is exactly why I asked! A hammer??!! http://forums.filefront.com/images/s.../confusedx.gif

yeah sry, i used to play diablo II LOFD... There's its Barbarian.

Kadaj June 11th, 2005 01:59 PM

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

Warriors dont really do much damage.......theyre for knockdown really, or bleeding/deep wound. Elementalists are the damage dealers IMO.

S3phiroth June 11th, 2005 02:16 PM

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

Warriors are the damage dealers, they are consistent. Where as elementalists and mesmers deal the main about of damage In my opinion but they have to recharge their main skills then deal the damage. Plus warriors have large health and can protect the others.

Kadaj June 11th, 2005 02:48 PM

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

Warriors are for tanking :deal: .

Yannick June 11th, 2005 03:05 PM

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

Yes, Warriors are tanks. They have the armour, so can charge, protect, and do all the running. If you combine it properly, like with Necro (Ele's no good 'coz they have no energy), then you can also deal some good quic damage, and finish off with some melee attacks.

JP(NL) June 11th, 2005 03:24 PM

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

It doesn't matter whether you perfectly combine every single adrenal attack or miss every single blow. In the end you have only one goal, to take the beating. that's all you're good for as a warrior.

Ele's deal the real damage.

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

I have a N/Mo15, it's ok, i didn't know that i'd picked monk as a second when i did, cause then, i didn't know what i was doing.

KoЯsakoff June 13th, 2005 11:28 AM

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

Well we've all read now that the most common classes used are W, Ele, Mo.. But what about a Ranger? What do you guys think of that char?

Yannick June 13th, 2005 11:53 AM

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

Meh. I don't see much use in them...

One is ok for poisioning, the can make good callers, and planting frozen soil.

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

I have a R/N char too. And I must say that it is pretty fun actually, more fun then I expected actually.
Dunno why though, I just like it.

KoЯsakoff June 13th, 2005 01:17 PM

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

I think they made it to weak compared to other chars.. In the beginning you really have to try hard to make it through the charr.. (unless you have found a better second prof than I did) And I think they should do more with the animals you can charm.

Re: Guild Wars: Your character

I never had any problems fighting charr. Just killed them 1 by 1
