Help in the first part

ack! Im too early in the game to be stuck. I managed to open gate 4 with the help of the scientist. Also, I walked up to one of the scientists panels because he asked for assistance and then managed to break something. Some police came in and mowed the other guy down. Ive also gone into the police baracks and acquired the flame thrower. I cant get into gate 2 or gate 5 and Im at a loss. Gate 5 is locked from the inside and gate 2 says I have to be a commander. Where is a commander??

the commander is in the room with the guards and the worker. to get to the room you have to get to the top room via the fans which you can get to by after killing the cop (after the laser entrance which you can get over by jumping off the box) then jump off the balcony. Once you are at the top possess one of the characters and kill the other guys. go to all the machines and turn them on. you can shut them down by pushing the red button.Get a battery holding stick ang get the battery in the light. go to the cabinet thing which is a elevator. go down and get out. You won't die because of the suit. go to the door. open it and open the other door. As you go in the worker will die. jump on the turrent and then onto the ship and jump behind the guards. attack one with the battery stick and pick the machine gun and kill the other one quickly. put your gun down. jump into the blackness and depossess when he jumps so Y live. Go up to the remaining person. possess her and grab the gun. then go to the machines next to you and push them and they will unlock the gates. then go out the other door. go through the other door go up to the upper catwalk and go into the place which used to have a laser field. go to the green door and open it. you are now at the barracks. go to the end and push the button to get the flamethrower. now go to where you started the game go to the laser door. it will open and people with ice guns will attack you. that's were I'm currently stuck.

You know, you don't have to kill anyone to get the commander. You can posess a RadWorker, then just push the others out of the way to turn the panels on. When you reach the tank room, deposess the Rad and take the worker. Walk past the gaurds and the Commander, deposess and leap into the Commander in one motion, then just watch the incoming message and leave! No death needed.

As for fighting the Chots, I had left the Flamethrower by the laserwall. I picked it up with the Commander, then went to the gate. After opening it, I let the Chots see me, then fell back. When they had ran forward, they were in a tight group. I just threw a stun grenade(Commnader's default AltFire type), aimed down and lit them all on fire. Then I just dodged in between the boxes until I got close to the Harpoon gun guy. I tired to drop another Stun, but my Commander got nailed to the wall (through the hips, looked pretty odd ) as I was approching, so I just possessed the Chot and went on to the next area.

Maybe i've got some bug in my game ,
There're another group of chots falling
down from the roof after i kill them all !

i have tried it but the commander, when I move her to the side, moves all over the place and gets killed.

Woody.. no bug, the chots come in 2 or 3 waves of 4.

Looser..Sorry buddy, this is one of the rooms where brutal fighting is about the only answer...but here's a few hints:
Consider entering as a radiation worker holding a radioactive battery(refill radiation batteries can be obtained from the pod launch room next door the the chot battle entrance)

Try entering as a red cop - they carry grenades and have heavy armor.(The lazer generators at the entrance to gate 2 can be destroyed by a grenade or radiation battery)

Flame thrower=good

Once through gate 2 look for the bazooka at the far wall.

When killed, possess a chot immediatly..Their spinning pak weapons are very deadly when swung at close range.

It's very rare to make it through this room without loosing at least one host.
