Gamestop/EB Games Merge! Ok i was surfing the news on gamespot.com last week and i found this article on how gamestop bought eb games in a sort of merge. Gamestop will take over the title of 3,600 store in us and 600 stores in europe er w.e, I guess this gives more power to the Gaming Industry but i always like EB games a lil' bit more than Gamestop. Although the contract :deal:was signed last week Gamestop won't take over the name until 2006 to not disrupt the 2005 holiday sales :D So check it out at http://gamespot.com/news/2005/04/18/news_6122418.html and tell me what u think http://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/eekx.gif |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! interisting stuff |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! lol yea but suxors |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! thats nice, we have will now have a monolyopy in "specialty gaming stores" Well lets hope this make the stores better. |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! I better be able to still trade in pc games or I'll go ape shit! |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! I prefer EB chiefly because they make it a bit easier to find PC games, whereas Gamestop is more console player friendly. I only hope that they do not become any less PC friendly upon merging with Gamestop. :uhm: |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! I prefer gamestop because they actully give me money for my stuff. I can get cash or store credit. And gamestop values it more than EB games. EB games offered me $10 less for my gameboy color than gamestop did when I sold it. |

Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! Well would u rather have a few more dollars for ur old game trade-ins or would u have more variety for PC and all systems for NEW Games?? Game.Match.and Set. I Go with EB GAMES! |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! i really hope thhey dont take away the used pc games part of the store, but incase they do, there always, EEEEEBAY! |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! My local EB sucks, so I am a little dissapointed with this....but w/e. That's fine. |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! yes |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! Ever try to sell a PC game to EB Games? I tried and just walked out on em after the made their offers for my games. They wouldnt take most of them because I didnt have their boxes or they were too old. They wouldnt take games that were more than like 3 years old. The only games they would take were fairly new and could be purchased in a store for $30+ but they offered me about $2-3 at the most. I didnt expect retail prices but I expected at least $7 or $8 for some of them. I could do better at a yard sale or ebay maybe. |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! It is only worth selling games to them if you have a large number of them that you are bored with. If you are lucky, you'll recieve enough store credit to get a newly released game. |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! yes but still EB games has more PC Games and usually has faster Pre-Order Releases (i.e. Guild Wars where i got it a day earlier than the PRE-ORDER RELEASE DATE) Just Saying... |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! I go to EB for PC games. I go to Gamespot for console games. If this merge is more like a merge to where they get the good parts of both of them, this could be very good. |
Re: Gamestop/EB Games Merge! ... now i must say, that my friends is the defanition of an idiot. anyway back to topic, i really hope they dont replace that staff at the eb stores, i know alot of quality ppl that work at ebs |
